Muslim Asks City for Woman-only Pool Times

CBNNews.com – It’s a growing conflict between Western society and Islamic culture in America.
A Muslim woman in Oregon has petitioned the city-run pools to provide women-only swim times.
Lul Abdulle’s Islamic beliefs prohibit her from swimming in the presence of men.
The Somali Women’s Association wants Portland to provide after-hours swim times and provide female lifeguards.
But the city says that would discriminate against men and other religions.
“We can’t discriminate against religion; the other is we can’t discriminate in favor of religion,” Portland City Attorney Harry Auerbach said.
“It would essentially violate the rights of male lifeguards if we only hired female lifeguards for certain duty,” he added.
The Muslim woman says everyone should have the right to exercise and good health.

Its seems like America is following our example here in Europe. These are the sorts of demands that are made when concessions are made to Sharia. Sharia is not an enhancement to our law and culture, it is an alternative to it. The result of giving in to such demands is to make non Muslims into second class citizens. If a person’s religion prevents them from integrating into society then that is thier problem not society’s.
No aspect of Sharia should be encouraged because Sharia is a toltal system. As such it is only a matter of time until western countries that give in to even the more moderate aspects of Sharia find themselves living under the horror of full sharia. Sharia finance might, for instance, appear to be a matter of choice, but I would say that because it derives from a total system then it is an instrument of subversion.
