Dear Attorney General Holder:

This letter is respectfully submitted to inform you that I must decline the invitation to participate in the May 4 roundtable meeting the President’s Task Force on Detention Policy is convening with current and former prosecutors involved in international terrorism cases.  An invitation was extended to me by trial lawyers from the Counterterrorism Section, who are members of the Task Force, which you are leading.

The invitation email (of April 14) indicates that the meeting is part of an ongoing effort to identify lawful policies on the detention and disposition of alien enemy combatants—or what the Department now calls “individuals captured or apprehended in connection with armed conflicts and counterterrorism operations.”  I admire the lawyers of the Counterterrorism Division, and I do not question their good faith.  Nevertheless, it is quite clear—most recently, from your provocative remarks on Wednesday in Germany—that the Obama administration has already settled on a policy of releasing trained jihadists (including releasing some of them into the United States).  Whatever the good intentions of the organizers, the meeting will obviously be used by the administration to claim that its policy was arrived at in consultation with current and former government officials experienced in terrorism cases and national security issues.  I deeply disagree with this policy, which I believe is a violation of federal law and a betrayal of the president’s first obligation to protect the American people.  Under the circumstances, I think the better course is to register my dissent, rather than be used as a prop.

Obama’s Muslim Woman Advisor Showcases Her Islamism

Obama’s newest addition to his “faith based” advisory board is Dalia Mogahed.

Mogahed was recently interviewed by IslamOnline during which she stated that “Islamophobia in America is very real,” and seemed to indicate that Islamic terrorists have legitimate complaints, stating that terrorists have been allowed to “take over…Muslim grievances.”

“What kind of advise [sic] would you be giving Obama to improve relations with US Muslims and the Muslim world?

I would advise him to listen first and foremost. Many have claimed that terrorists have ‘hijacked Islam’. I disagree. I think Islam is safe and thriving in the lives of Muslims around the world. What the terrorists have been allowed to take over are Muslim grievances. Muslim concerns over injustice have been largely dismissed by the previous administration leaving a vacuum exploited by extremists. This is a dangerous reality for all of us. Instead, the US must hear mainstream Muslim concerns even if America does not agree with their perceptions. These issues can no longer be ignored or left and the extremists to monopolize.

What do you think of the rising Islamphobia [sic] in America?

Islamphobia in America is very real. Gallup finds that Muslims are among the most unfavorably viewed groups in the US and only a little over a third of Americans say they have no prejudice against Muslims. This presents a grave danger to America as a whole. The disease of racism, by definition, is a bias in judgment. This means that racism clouds sound j udgment and leads people to make irrational decisions. It also divides a nation and prevents the full utilization of its intellectual and cultural resources. Racism is wasteful. Racism is a strategic disadvantage. I am very proud of the progress America has made in fighting this problem as it relates to the relationship between blacks and whites. In 1956 only 4% of Americans approved of a marriage between whites and blacks. The marriage that produced our president was illegal in Virginia when he was born. Today 80% of Americans approve of marriage between blacks and whites. Last year, Barack Obama became the first Democratic Presidential candidate in decades to carry Virginia. We are a stronger and smarter nation because of this growth. Our next growth spurt will be in ridding our society of anti-Muslim prejudice.”

Ms. Mogahed’s viewpoint is typical of the Islamist mindset.

She sees no responsibility for the actions of Muslims in causing what she wrongfully terms Islamophobia and maintains a hostile/confrontational attitude towards the United States while striking a pose of victimhood, even after having been appointed to a high level WH advisory panel by a president who seems to be similarly constructed. ~end

That interview Obama’s latest adviser gave, was her first, and it went to a Muslim Brotherhood organization as we documented here. Creep creep.

FBI submits to Arab American leaders and CAIR in Dearbornistan

More capitulation and submission to Muslims, hence, sharia keeps creeping in the U.S. The FBI spends more time and money apologizing to Muslims than it does investigating.

Dearborn –Federal law enforcement officers met with a group of Arab American leaders today to combat rumors the FBI is forcing people of Middle Eastern ties to work as informants.

Over the past six months, the rumors have intensified that FBI agents are coercing people across the country to spy for the agency at mosques and other meeting places where Arab Americans and Muslims gather.

But Andrew Arena, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Detroit office, said the rumors are not true during the meeting, which was held at the Lebanese American Heritage Club.

“I have no legal right to just send informants into a mosque, Catholic church or Jewish synagogue. We don’t do that.”

Arena said the FBI, like all law enforcement agencies, do use informants but said the government is not targeting people for investigations simply because they may be Muslim or Arab.

Arena said his office has not received any complaints and he believes the rumors are a matter of perception and not fact.

Update: In FBI Cuts Off CAIR – Temporarily? we asked:

how long the Bureau will not be participating in CAIR-related events and how long it will take CAIR to finagle their way back into bed with the Bureau. How long will it take CAIR to enable their contingency plan and stop officially participating or announcing their participation in events but rather participate in the same manner that they successfully infiltrated U.S. politics, national security, and law enforcement in the first place?

That was on January 30, and on April 30 CAIR was back meeting with the FBI in Dearborn:

Andrew Arena, special agent in charge of the FBI in Detroit and a BRIDGES member, acknowledged the strain in an interview Wednesday, and said he will explain the FBI’s position at Thursday’s meeting.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said he will attend the meeting though has doubts much progress will be made.

US-based firm to launch two Shariah funds

The imposition of sharia in the U.S. is not just through jihad and political means, but also financial.

Remember Tony DeLorenzo aka Shaykh Yusuf Talal DeLorenzo? The guy who told Al Jazeera that “the real ground work for Islamic financial transactions around the world has taken place in boardrooms here in New York and around the country, we kind of led the way…” (see video here). He’s the Chief Shariah Officer at Shariah Capital. The company appears to be based in Connecticut.

US-based Shariah Capital will launch two Shariah- compliant products, one of which will be a real estate fund, its chief executive officer said.

The new funds will be launched after Ramadaan this year, he said. The firm had launched four Shariah compliant funds in Dubai early this year.

“We look forward to launching a Shariah compliant real estate fund and a private equity solution this year,” Eric Meyer, CEO of Shariah Capital, told Emirates Business.

Meyer said he now wants to move to products beyond hedge funds. “We see potential in ETFs, private equity solutions and real estate – the distressed part of it.”

Shariah Capital maintains a board of Shariah scholars who advise the company on its products. The board members come from the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the US. via US-based firm to launch two Shariah funds
