A noteworthy update to President Obama’s light schedule this week, considering the rumors about his religion that lingered throughout the 2008 campaign. From the White House guidance for Tuesday:
In the evening, the President will host a dinner celebrating Ramadan and highlight the contributions of American Muslims in the State Dining Room. The President’s remarks will be pooled press.
Nothing new, Bush did it too (video) – will it be the same? Will the cameras be rolling like at Bush’s Ramadan feast? Who will lead the prayer?
Official White House Iftar dinners began during the Clinton administration and grew in size during the Bush years. Over the past eight years, we have made the Iftar dinner an annual tradition here at the White House. And I’m really glad we did, Bush said…
Update:
The White House released a press release with the expected attendees which include Obama’s favorite terror-linked organization ISNA – and frequent Obama invitee Ingrid Mattson.
We’re quite certain Obama won’t mention that Ramadan is also the month of jihad – according to Islamic sources.
