The Associated Press has published an image of one of the Qur’ans that was given away by Ft. Hood mass murderer Nidal Malik Hasan, image below.

This photograph taken on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 in Killeen, Texas, shows a copy of the Quran and a briefcase holding this business card that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan gave to his neighbor a day before going on a shooting spree at the Fort Hood Army Base. (AP Photo/Jack Plunkett)
Coincidentally, the Muslim Mafia, aka CAIR, aka Council on American Relations, gave/gives out free Qur’ans translated by the same Abdullah Yusuf Ali, and not without significant controversy.
A 2005 USA Today piece titled, ‘Getting the holy word out‘, verifies this:
Almost 4,000 people have jumped at an offer from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to send a free copy of Abdullah Yusuf Ali’s translation of the Koran (also spelled Qur’an) to whoever wants one. Publisher Amana Publications stands ready to ship as many as 25,000 starting this week.
The campaign comes intentionally on the heels of deadly riots that followed a faulty report last month of interrogators flushing a Koran down a toilet at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba[*]. The campaign has stirred debate among Muslims, says organizer and CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper, because some say it invites further desecration or misinterpretation. To request a Koran, call 1-800-78-ISLAM or visit www.explorethequran.org.
An unavailable Los Angeles Times article verified that the L.A. school district pulled all copies of the Yusuf Ali Qur’ans – the same CAIR supplied to public libraries – from its library, via FP Magazine:
Besides the standard anti-Semitic statements found in the Quran, such as “Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors,” Ali’s commentary went that much further with its anti-Jewish rhetoric.
It is because of these statements that, in February of 2002, the Los Angeles public school system chose to pull every copy (nearly 300 copies) of “The Meaning of THE HOLY QUR’AN” from the shelves of all of its libraries. As stated by the Los Angeles Times, “After reviewing the book, [director of the Los Angeles Unified School District, Jim] Konantz instructed principals to secure all copies in their offices until the district determines what to do with them.” Later, the decision was made to ban all future usage.
Yusuf Ali’s translation and commentary include:
- “The Jews in their arrogance claimed that all wisdom and all knowledge of Allah were enclosed in their hearts… Their claim was not only arrogance but blasphemy.”
- “A trick of the Jews was to twist words and expressions, so as to ridicule the most solemn teachings of Faith.”
- “[T]here is a catalogue of the iniquities of which the Jews were guilty, and for these iniquities we must understand some such words as: ‘They are under divine displeasure.’”
- “The Jews blaspheme and mock, and because of their jealousy, the more they are taught, the more obstinate they become in their rebellion… Their selfishness and spite sow quarrels among themselves, which will not be healed till the Day of Judgment.”
Another report on the Fort Hood massacre indicated Hasan gave away a Spanish-language Qur’an:
Earlier this week, Hasan asked Padilla his native language. When Padilla said it was Spanish, Hasan immediately went up to his apartment to get him a Spanish-language Qur’an.
The same publisher as the CAIR Qur’an, Amana, lists a Spanish translation as one of its best sellers.
Did Hasan get his copies of the Qur’an from CAIR? He wouldn’t be the first Muslim doctor in Texas to be influenced by a CAIR-donated Qur’an.
For more of the Muslim Mafia’s disturbing tactics – continue reading the FrontPage article which details the silent dawah and infiltration taking place across the United States:
On September 11, 2002, the one year anniversary of the worst tragedy to ever take place on American soil, CAIR announced a new initiative, titled ‘Explore Islamic Culture & Civilization.’ The goal of the project was to place sets of Islamic-oriented books in thousands of libraries across the United States. It was funded in part by a $500,000 gift from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.
And Jihad Watch and Atlas Shrugs have noted Hasan’s business card, on the Qur’an in the AP photo, includes an acronym, SOA, for Soldier of Allah, followed by (SWT):
When writing the name of God (Allah), Muslims often follow it with the abbreviation “SWT.” These letters stand for the Arabic words “Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala,” or “Glory to Him, the Exalted.” Muslims use these or similar words to glorify God when mentioning His name.
*Note: That Gitmo event that CAIR capitalized on apparently never happened, and caused Newsweek to retract its story.
