America: A Sharia-Compliant State

America: A Sharia-Compliant State. That’s the title of a sub-chapter in a book written by the imam of the proposed Ground Zero mosque. From the ACLJ, The Imam Behind Ground Zero Mosque:

There’s been growing debate about the background and the beliefs of Imam Feisal Rauf, the Imam behind the planned Islamic mosque at Ground Zero in New York City, where thousands of Americans were murdered on 9-11 by Islamic terrorists. Imam Feisal Rauf‟s What’s Right with Islam is What’s Right with America: A New Vision for Muslims and the West has been heralded by many as a means to cultivate mutual respect between Islam and America. It is not. The following are excerpts taken directly from Rauf‟s book:

…Chapter 3: What’s Right with America Imam Rauf takes it upon himself to blame the United States for any tension that remains between them and Muslims. He states, “If there is any quarrel Muslims have with America, it is that the United States does not always live up to its own ideal of ethics and values” (79). In sub-chapter America: A Sharia-Compliant State, Rauf states “(w)hat I am demonstrating is that the American political structure is Shariah compliant, for a „state inhabited predominantly by Muslims neither defines nor makes it synonymous with an Islamic state. It can become truly Islamic only by virtues of a conscious application of the sociopolitical tenets of Islam to the life of the national, and by an incorporation of those tenets in the basic constitution of the country.‟ By the same token, a state that does incorporate such sociopolitical tenets has become a de facto Islamic state even if there are no Muslims in name living there, for it expresses the ideals of the good society according to Islamic principles. For America to score even higher on the „Islamic‟ or „Shariah Compliance‟ scale, America would need to do two things: invite the voices of all religions to join the dialogue in shaping the nation‟s practical life, and allow religious communities more leeway to judge among themselves according to their own laws” 86).

America‟s values are from “the principles of the Declaration and Constitution are consistent with divine ordinance, the particular method of government and a particular scheme of sociopolitical cooperation that follow from it are thereby invested with divine sovereignty and command an authority that comes from God. The power of the community is of a vicarious kind, being held, as it were in trust from God. A Shariah-compliant states owes its existence to the will of the people and is subject to control by them, although it derives its ultimate authority from God” (107).

Further, Rauf believes that “(it) also would not be a violation of church-state separation to have a subsidiary entity within judiciary that employs religious jurists from diverse religious backgrounds to comment on the compliance of certain decisions with their religious laws and to provide guidance to their religious communities on how kosher or Shariah compliant these decisions are” (111).

Imam Rauf, Feisal Abdul. What’s Right With Islam is What’s Right With America: A New Vision for Muslims and the West. New York, NY: HarperOne, 2004.

Rauf wants his readers to believe the U.S. is already sharia compliant. Worse, and completely ignored by proponents of Rauf and his faux-interfaith mosque, he believes the U.S. should become more sharia compliant, and recommends ways to do so. The only thing he is promoting is Islamic sharia law. Read the chapter on Google books, here.

  1. Of course Rauf wants readers to believe the US is already Sharia compliant. In the same way Muslims want non-Muslims to believe that everyone is BORN a Muslim and has only strayed off the path if they are not now Muslims by religion.

It’s a disgusting concept that rips away the identities of every human being.

And when Rauf says this as ways to make the US “more Sharia compliant”: invite the voices of all religions to join the dialogue in shaping the nation‟s practical life, and allow religious communities more leeway to judge among themselves according to their own laws.”

By “voices of all religions” he means MUSLIM ONLY. This little bit of Taqqiya has not gone unnoticed by those who know what it is.

By “allowing religious communities more leeway to judge among themselves according to their own laws” he means that during the process of turning the US into a Muslim Sharia compliant country, Muslims should be able to create and live in their own communities that do not answer to US law, police, court systems, or legal procedures whatsoever, but only to their own Sharia Law.

With the goal, of course, of eventually turning the entire US government into a Sharia Law government and the US into a Muslim country.

  2. This guy is a radical Islamist, and it’s obvious he’s a nut job. It is not safe or wise to allow this Muslim Brother-affiliated ideologue to expand his operations in the U.S. What next, a sharia-compliant flight school?

  3. The initial impetus for the creation of America was religious freedom for Christians to worship as they wished.

It’s in the Constitution, a rock solid and unwavering code of US political and social independence.

Little did they realise that that moribund almost forgotten faith of Islam, long dormant and destined to dwell in a desert would spring to life, recapture its original imperialistic and conquering impulse and begin its rampage all over again.

Add in the multiculturalism and cultural relativity of Western democracy and we have a recipe for self destruction.

Course this freedom is never reciprocated in the Dar el Islam and ummah, the US is a mere cash cow enabler, a stepping stone to be expoited in the furtherance of this aim of global dominance.

If freedom of worship opens the doors to a faith which explicitly bans that concept what then?

Islam is a parasite faith. It exists by preying on the weak and using that weaker element as chattels, servants and slaves.

Examine the feats of western thought, science and the arts, then ask what has Islam achieved?

An honest reply would be not very much and had it not been for the geographical accident of oil they’d still be living in tents.

This is the Jihad in action. Any method utilised with no quarter.

It must be stopped in its tracks right now or a huge backlash is coming down the pike.

  4. creeping,

Based on the quotes you’ve showed us, what’s really disturbing is that the guy is a smooth talker. Anyone who just reads much of what he wrote and doesn’t take much time think about it, might not get what he’s actually saying.

    However he does mess up.

“(it) also would not be a violation of church-state separation to have a subsidiary entity within judiciary that employs religious jurists from diverse religious backgrounds to comment on the compliance of certain decisions with their religious laws and to provide guidance to their religious communities on how kosher or Shariah compliant these decisions are”

Really how would it not violate the separation of church and state? The separation of church and state, (implied in the first amendment’s establishment clause) means that the government is supposed to be neutral on religious matters. To literally believe what Feisal Rauf wrote to be true, one would have to be ignorant of what the term “Separation of Church and State” actually means, or he’d have to lack logic skills. Government funded religious judges deciding weather or not our laws are compatible with their religious laws, and striking them down, if they are in conflict, is not compatible with the first amendment. Even if they just have an advisory role where they tell us how to make our laws more compatible with their religious laws, it would still violate the establishment clause.

Oh and by the way, why is Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, not opposing this guy, instead of ripping into Gingrich and “The American Center For Law and Justice” for opposing this Mosque?

Frivolous Filing: TV Preacher’s Legal Group Sues To Block Islamic Center In New York City

Now there are some things that I serious disagree with “The American Center For Law and Justice” on, but Rob Boston really should do his research on this, instead of just assuming its all a bunch of bigotry on their part. Don’t just oppose the fusion of religion and American government when Christian try to fuse them, do it when Muslims try it as well.

    • a snake no doubt – just like many of CAIR’s top guns and the PR people of most Muslim org’s in the US and in the West

more bizarre is that ‘if’ muslims are as conservative as they’d have us believe, then they would most certainly fall in the Republican camp and being anti-gay, anti-pagan, anti-alcohol, etc. – there’s no way they would align with liberals and Democrats – yet we are told Muslims vote primarily Dem… certainly CAIR and the Islamists actively campaigned for Obama – possibly because of his Muslim heritage but the ability to lie with such ease that is troublesome

they are on your school boards, your local political boards, influencing what goes into textbooks, influencing policy at DHS, in prisons, forcing companies to become sharia compliant – this is creeping sharia & stealth jihad… it’s part of the plan and all the small incremental gains add up eventually… everything happening now is being done while muslims make up less than 1% of the population in the US…imagine what happens when it’s 10%, 20%

  5. Logdon,

I agree with much of what you have to say, but you should rewrite your first sentence.

“The initial impetus for the creation of America was religious freedom for Christians to worship as they wished.”

I agree with you in that “the the Constitution, is a rock solid and unwavering code of US political and social independence,” as you wrote, but it wasn’t intended to just allow Christians to worship as they wished, but everyone to worship their god or in some cases, gods, freely. It wasn’t meant to just apply to Christians, but to everyone, of any faith, so long as they respected the rights of people of other faiths.

    Thats why I said…

  7. Logdon,

    Sorry about any misunderstanding than.

  8. Gah!

This imam just gets dirtier and dirtier.

Yet, the mainstream media and the leftards continue to say that Rauf promotes Islam as some sort of good thing.

    Madness.

  9. The fact remains that that ground zero mosque building (the Burlington Coat Factory) was hit by airplane parts & bodies on 9-11 – THAT IS GROUND ZERO. And, another fact is that it was the muslims from the Cordoba Initiative who first called it the “Ground Zero Mosque!”

Just listen to what muslims and ex-muslims have been saying:

“Mosques are our barracks, domes our helmets, minarets our bayonets, believers our soldiers.”
    - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan

“Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”
    - Omar M. Ahmad, founder of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

If U.S. leaders & citizens don’t stop the stealth jihad – you can kiss America bye. It will become an Islamic state in 5 – 10 years. You best stop it while you still can.

  10. If you take out the killings how is this different then what the Christian Fundamentalists in the US want?

The SBC would love to make people stay in marriages against their will, make it illegal to teach science, make women do exactly as their husband said, control what married couples can do in bed.

I really don’t see much difference between the two.

  11. Franklin Graham vs. Ground Zero mosque imam: Where’s the outrage?…

Can someone explain to me why Rev. Franklin Graham, son of national treasure Rev. Billy Graham, was disinvited from the Pentagon’s National Day of Prayer service over “controversial comments” made about Islam last year, yet the United State…

  12. David Thompson,

I oppose the Religious Right on many things. However, you seem to be ignoring something.
Murdering unbelievers and suicide bombing Innocent civilians is hardly mainstream in any Christian society today, and very few conservative or even fundamentalist Christian today, support wife beating. Regardless of what you may think of abortion, most Christians, including pro life Christians, oppose killing abortion doctors and bombing abortion clinics. Can you prove me wrong?

  13. America best NOT comply with Sharia. Islam is Najis.
