In 1984, Panorama’s David Lomax reported on the policies Bradford council devised to meet the needs of the city’s Muslim Asian schoolchildren and combat the lack of integration, poor attendance and attainment among that community – while simultaneously trying to not alienate the white majority.
This is an abridged version of Panorama: The Bradford Experiment which was originally broadcast on 14 May 1984.

I’ve always been puzzled about the rocking back and forth when they study the Koran. The Jews do the same when studying the Torah.
What’s the purpose of the rocking?
Paula the rocking has nothing to do with studying anything and I was unaware that is what Muslims do, having never ever picked up on it.
In the main it is only religious Jews that rock, it stems from the rocking movement one would have when riding a camel
Many things Jews do and believe, especially the ultra orthodox ones, is tradition rather than part of the religion.
