Delaware State Police detectives have arrested a Wilmington woman in connection with two bank robberies that occurred in October, including one hold-up in Bear. She is believed to have used a Muslim burka to conceal her identity.
On Friday, detectives arrested Lashawnda Jones, 30, of north Pine Street in Wilmington, and charged her with robbery 1st degree, three counts of robbery 2nd degree, two counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy 2nd degree.

Classic! Rip off those insulting burkas!! Better yet, post pictures of women in burkas (obviously unidentifiable) in post offices, DMV offices, etc. – i.e., all public places – just to drive home the message that wearing a burka will get you only so far, but it WILL guarantee enhanced mistrust and calls for removing the stoopid things in public! The burka should not be wore in public, those that conceal their face with only the eyes showing are hiding more than just their face. If they want to wear it all the time then get out of my Country and go to Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.
If this results in fewer bank robberies or other crimes, why not ban face coverings of all kinds in pubic places or where security cameras are used, such as government buildings, banks, stores, etc? Thanks to CS for “covering” this! Bad pun.

If the United States as a whole allows burqa’s to be worn in public this is the end result. Every “swingin dick” in the U.S., man or woman who needs some extra cash for the week will wear one to the bank and the bank and its customers will become yet just another statistic. “Ban the Burqa completely and the sooner the better. won’t happen under the Obama administration but should happen after 2012 when a new President with some balls takes over.
It can already be done in private establishments or anywhere with restricted or paid entry. No need for laws.
But to do it by a federal law would probably require 60 in the Senate.
