Militant ‘Muslims of America’ gather in Binghamton

Remember the Muslims of America? The Muslim group led by Sheik Gilani who was caught on video declaring the establishment of militant Islamic training camps in the U.S.? That same group is fooling the establishment in Binghamton, New York and once again another reporter fails to provide any details on another insidious Islamic group in the U.S. via 500 gather for United Muslim-Christian Forum | pressconnects.com | Press & Sun-Bulletin.

BINGHAMTON — From many parts of the country and many countries in the world they came, packing the Empire Ballroom of the Days Inn in Binghamton for Saturday’s Second Annual Holiday Program, sponsored by the United Muslim-Christian Forum.

Muhammad Hasib A. Haqq, spokesman for the Muslims of the Americas community in Hancock, estimated attendance to be no less than 500 — and that didn’t count the 100-plus kids being babysat nearby.

Diane Durgin, of Binghamton, whose son and daughter-in-law are both Muslim, came to the previous celebration, too.

“There are more than there were last year,” she said. “It’s nice to see so much of the community come out.”

The overwhelming majority came from the 22 Muslims of the Americas “villages” in the U.S. — and from Pakistan, Canada and Venezuela — but many local Christian guests sat at the podium and in the audience as well.

Mistress of Ceremonies Dr. Diane O’Heron of Broome Community College — who belongs to St. Ambrose, she noted — introduced the eight main speakers, including Dr. Ali Mazrui, director of the Institute of Global Cultural Studies at Binghamton University.

For inter-faith starters, we’d be remiss not to mention that it was in Binghamton where a Saudi Muslim stabbed to death a non-Muslim professor born to Christian Arab parents.

And Dr. Mazrui has an interesting background as well, ignored by all apparently:

Professor Mazrui…himself is descended from the leading slave-trading family of Mombasa (their conduct was suppressed by the British). Mazrui’s family sold slaves into the Muslim lands, including Saudi Arabia.

In the book version of The Africans, Mazrui also supported the southward expansion of Islam through the Sudan, an expansion generated by the genocidal Sudanese Islamic government, as a natural development not to be resisted by the Christian South. Moreover, Mazrui wrote that after Moses and Jesus, “the last of the Great Jewish prophets” was Karl Marx.

But more to the point, is the Muslims of America also known as Jumaat ul Fuqra.

Do the groups and politicians in Binghamton, not to mention those who report on these events, take even one minute to research the people they are involved with?
