An update on Canadian Muslims request for Taliban-like segregation of school kids. We read the money quote from this piece and presumed it was a fed up Canadian professor – who would eventually be dragged before Canada’s infamous sharia court Human Rights Commission for his opinions. It wasn’t until someone sent us a link to this Free Thought Nation piece did we realize the quote came from a Muslim. Maybe that’s why the media has been almost silent on Kanwar’s statement.

Mahfooz Kanwar, a member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, says he has some better ideas.
“I’d tell them, this is Canada, and in Canada, we teach music and physical education in our schools. If you don’t like it, leave. If you want to live under sharia law, go back to the hellhole country you came from or go to another hellhole country that lives under sharia law,” said Kanwar, who is a professor emeritus of sociology at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
That might be putting things a little more forcefully than most of us would be comfortable with, but Kanwar says he is tired of hearing about such out-of-tune demands from newcomers to our country. “Immigrants to Canada should adjust to Canada, not the other way around,” he argues.
Kanwar, who immigrated to Canada from Pakistan via England and then the United States in 1966, says he used to buy into the “Trudeaupian mosaic, official multiculturalism (nonsense).”
He makes it clear, that like most Canadians, he is pleased and enjoys that Canada has citizens literally from every country and corner in the world, as it has enriched this country immensely. But it’s official multiculturalism – the state policy “that entrenches the lie” that all cultures and beliefs are of equal value and of equal validity in Canada that he objects to.
“The fact is, Canada has an enviable culture based on Judeo-Christian values – not Muslim values – with British and French rule of law and traditions and that’s why it’s better than all of the other places in the world. We are heading down a dangerous path if we allow the idea that sharia law has a place in Canada. It does not. It is completely incompatible with the idea and reality of Canada,” says Kanwar, who in the 1970s was the founder and president of the Pakistan-Canada Association and a big fan of official multiculturalism. Kanwar says his views changed when he started listening to the people who joined his group. They badmouthed Canada, weren’t interested in knowing Canadians or even in learning one of our official languages. They created cultural ghettos and the Canadian government even helped fund it.
“One day it dawned on me that the reason all of us wanted to move here was going to disappear if we didn’t start defending Canada and its fundamental values.” That’s when Kanwar started speaking out against the dangers of official multiculturalism. He has been doing so for decades.

Kanwar says for years, some “non-whites like me” have felt comfortable pointing out the failings of official multiculturalism. What’s encouraging is that now “whites” or the majority culture and its leaders are starting to sound the alarm.
“At stake are not just lives, it’s our way of life. That’s why this is a challenge we cannot avoid – and one we must meet.”
Very true. However, Kanwar could start by setting the example and disbanding the “Muslim Canadian Congress.”

TOLD YOU SO! And, Muslims in Egypt are marching with the Christians for equal rights AGAINST the Muslim Brotherhood. People in Iran are marching and fighting AGAINST Amadabnijab wanting their Persian heritage back vs the Arab tyranny they are under now. They’ve sent word they are standing the people of the US. Well, this proves that not all Muslims want sharia law, most certainly, but unfortunately, it does not prove that most Muslims, including ones in countries like Egypt, don’t want Sharia to be the law of the land.

Muslims who are revolting in the mid east say they want “democracy” but most of them (over 70%) want islam to be part of their new government. Many (and most of the following is well over 70%) want sharia law and most think adulterers must be stoned. There is no call for equal rights for women.
You have a whole lot more learning to do. What you wish does not mean it is a fact. I suggest you temper your words and use them wisely before everyone knows how little you really know.

I share your sentiment. If Muslims really want to get people to stop seeing them as barbarians they should act like this guy. Its nice to know that not all Muslims are so perverted that they don’t have any human decency and have some respect for people who are not Muslims and non Islamic cultures.

Did you read the poll results that I linked to in my response to your last comment? I did do my home work. If that poll is incorrect, than you should try to debunk it. Please, don’t just tell me its incorrect. If its incorrect, I would love to know that, but just saying its incorrect doesn’t make it so.
UH…..excuse me, but the President of the United States is not George Bush, nor has Mr. Bush been President for some time. It’s time to face up to the fact that the Federal Government is riddled with Muslims and that goes right to the White House, IMO. And the current President is Barack Hussein Obama. That is a pretty bold statement, claiming that you know what 99% of Muslims obey. I would hazard to guess that you do not even know any Muslims.

I have always said the violent big-mouth Muslims are ruining it for the normal law abiding Muslims who came here to get OUT of sharia run lives and govts- most of them fled here to get away from that hideous life- for example, those who fled Iran when the SHAH fell to ISLAMIC Mullahs -some Muslims want to be free- and to be able to leave or not practice ISLAM under threat from other Muslims -but by choice- our lands have always offered sanctuary to those people-and freedom to choose religion- they lived here many years without making waves- I know some nice Muslims and it is not fair to blame them for the actions of usurpers and troublemakers- It is nice to hear from MUSLIMS that dont want “home” to be enacted Here- those Muslims should stay in sharia land as Kanwar says-
The problem I see is how can we tell which Muslim is normal and whichis the next human bomb? We rely on intel and informers – sadly I have little confidence in Obama admin to police properly, to do undercover to weed out who is who , and our legisslators are totally clueless as to who is doing what – they ahve shown acceptance of radicals and labeled them moderate or not dangerous.

I too have heard the calls from Iran’s “insurgence” saying “We fighting with you America”. Our news calls them “insurgence” Amadabnijab is dealing with. Iranians are not Arabs!
