Best Buy sponsors Hamas-linked Muslim group’s annual banquet

Updated with contact info below.

via Action Alert – Best Buy: TV’s, Computers and Hamas :: Islamist Watch.

Think again before buying your next flat-screen television or computing device from Best Buy.

The struggling retail giant recently used profits from American consumers to fund the annual banquet of a group closely linked to Hamas. The Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) recently listed Best Buy as a “Platinum Sponsor.” Best Buy has refused to rule out future support for CAIR through numerous messages to its public relations department. The big box retailer is already in chaos amid the recent resignation of its CEO for personal misconduct, dwindling sales and bond downgrades.

The United States government named CAIR an “unindicted co-conspirator” to fund the terrorist group Hamas in America’s most significant terror financing trial. The U.S. also identified CAIR as an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood, sharing the common goal of dismantling American institutions and turning the U.S. into a Sharia-compliant, Islamic state through incremental, stealth jihad.

And that’s only the beginning. For all the details and links, see the bullet points below — after the jump at the bottom of the post.

Utterly outrageous, yes. But outrage is not enough. Action is required. The Goal is a commitment from Best Buy to never again use profits from American consumers to finance Islamic radicals.

Here is how you can make a difference:

    • If you don’t like the idea of your consumer electronics, software and appliance dollars going to fund groups aligned with Hamas and pledged to turning America into a Sharia-compliant, Islamic state, write and/or call Best Buy and let them know. Best Buy Public Relations Department: 612-292-NEWS (6397) or NewsCenter@bestbuy.com.
    • Feel free to use/copy/paste the bullet points below. But try to put it in your own words and make it personal. Share any responses from Best Buy with us at islamist-watch@meforum.org.
  • Tell your friends and family about Best Buy and about Islamist Watch. If they join our mailing list (link at top of Islamist-Watch.org), they’ll receive future action alerts and can help make a difference.

Here are the details on CAIR: (below fold)

    • Current CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper was quoted as saying: “I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future. … But I’m not going to do anything violent to promote that. I’m going to do it through education.”
    • Senator Charles Schumer (Democrat, New York) described CAIR in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing as an organization “which we know has ties to terrorism.” FDCH Political Transcripts, Sept. 10, 2003.

  1. Forwarded this to my military and former military family members. G.I.s, if times haven’t changed, buy LOTS AND LOTS of audio and communications stuff. Anyone know if Best Buy is on military bases in the U.S.?

    • no retailers are ON bases, other that the contracted post exchange

    • not the ones that I have been in, we need to let everyone know about and we all need to call best buy and let them know that we will not buy there again. call 1-888-BEST-BUY (1-888-237-8289)

  2. Wow, Best Buy just went on my list of places not to spend my money.

  3. BEST BUY’S in bed with ISLAM, they are now off my list of things to buy no mater if they have the best price or not. BY BY BEST BUY.

  4. Best Buy was always overpriced anyway. A standard PC power supply at Best Buy was over $70.00. The very same one at a small mom and pop shop was just under $25.00. They claim theirs were better, but from what I could see, there was no difference, except the price. Ever since then, I haven’t given them a dime.

  5. Best Buy has a Facebook page. Google Best Buy and go there a post to it. I’ve already received some hate mail. I will never buy anything from Best Buy again.

  6. Bye bye Best Buy. Just bought a pc, if knew this then I’d have spent my $ else where. All my peeps will see this article.
    Boycot!
All who want Sharia Law in our country must be booted out. You are either here to enjoy the USA Constitution or leave. Don’t come to changd it either.

  7. Oddly, their efforts to bring Sharia Law to our country by legal peaceful means are actually protected by the USA Constitution.

    • Except for the minor little part about Law. If it’s not in the Constitution it doesn’t count. Also it’s a Religious law so it’s got a bit going against it. Of course the bleating Liberals will endorse it, then pee in their lace panties when they find out what’s really happening.

    • WRONG! Sharia Law is based on religion and is a violation of the separation of church and state and as such is PROHIBITED By the Constitution and any Judge who rules otherwise has committed judicial malfease

      • I hate to tell you this, boss, but the Libtards are the ones that claim “separation of church and state” is somewhere in the Constitution. It isn’t. It’s been read into it for years. Just like the “give me your tired, your poor…” quote. THAT is on the Statue of Liberty, which was a private donation from individuals in France; NOWHERE in the Constitution!

  8. Post a NOLove note on Best Buys Facebook page, don’t forget a kind reminder on Twitter.

  9. Boycott is the answer, but if you’re going to boycott , make it even more effective by letting Best Buy know and tell them why.

  11. Time to boycott Best Buy. I used to purchase my electronics there.

  12. I finished my email to them with the line:
“I protest not with a sign or a bullhorn, but with my dollars and my patronage. “

    • Did the same thing you did. Looks like Best Buy just might shut down a lot sooner than they think with the amount of people that are planning on boycotting them because of this.

    • I also sent an e-mail!! That I will no longer be spending my American made money to support anti-American groups such as Cair or Hamas!!

  14. Best Buy already announced they are CLOSING 50 stores this year due to bad business decisions and bad economy. Chosing to align with CAIR is yet another bad business decision that will come back to haunt them. Best Buy lost a fifteen hundred dollar sale from me this week when I replaced my GE stove with an LG by shopping elsewhere. My home is now completely purged of ALL GE products as well.

    • Good for you, WTD! G.E. has been on my do not purchase list for years. Also, be careful when buying other brands, because some of them are actually manufactured by G.E. under contract with other brands. When buying any product, it’s pretty easy to discover which brands are made by G.E. because they will have the same style controls as the G.E. products. Location of the controls is a hint and the serial numbers on other products made by G.E. will usually have the letters G.E. stamped in the series. If in doubt, ask the sales person, or check online.

  16. READ THE KORAN OR THE KORAN FOR DUMMIES. YOU WOULDN’T BE SUPPORTING THIS GROUP IF YOU KNEW WHAT WAS COMING.

  17. I work for Best Buy in Tennessee and the company is not in any risk of completely closing down. And as for using BestBuy as a showroom and buying at a “cheaper” price online, we price match our competition. So guess what…. Amazon has it online cheaper… Great! The very same day you can get the item from BestBuy for the matched price without waiting for it to be shipped. Do you really think boycotting the company is going to do anything but cause people to lose their jobs? I do know that typically companies like BestBuy, Walmart, etc. do not send sponsorship money period, but if in fact BestBuy did sponsor the CAIR-MN Banquet, then this is all so ridiculous. It’s a banquet…. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s not like BestBuy sent the organization a few AK-47′s with a note that said “Happy Jihad”!

    • Leighanne,

Would it be OK with you if they sponsored a banquet for the KKK? Just curious…

      • Sure why not? If they could support one cause why not another? That’s like when my husband was deployed his mother wanted to put his picture up at a Florida Target as a local hero and their home office said that they don’t support the troops, but they had different things like supporting gay and lesbian rights hung up. And when she brought that to their attention they said that they would support gays over the troops any day. And if BestBuy were to sponsor a Christian organization, I would expect the CAIR to not have one single complaint. I personally believe that the best way to combat the Islamic “faith” is to re-educate people on what they are all about and let Christ reign again in our country. Boycotts are only gonna cause American demise not Islam.

        • Leighanne,

Are you studying politics? I only ask because your response really didn’t answer my question. I asked if it was OK *with you*. Do you want money that came from your pocket to support the KKK? And the question isn’t whether they have the right to sponsor a banquet for a group that is known by the US Government to have funding to terrorists. No, Best Buy has the right to spend money as they see fit. But so do I. I have the right to spend my money elsewhere. I have the right to convince my friends and neighbors to spend their money elsewhere.

But do you, by proxy, support CAIR? Would *you*, by proxy, support the KKK?

          • I actually have a granddad in the Klan, but no I would not send my money to the KKK unless they went back to their roots of upholding the American values that made up our country. When the Klan first was established it was to do what you are doing here. I do follow politics but I really wish that we would figure another way to be rid of Islam before bankrupting an American company and causing over half a million people to lose their jobs. BestBuy is also in other countries besides ours. Don’t you think they would just outsource to stay in business. I’m a Christian and the only way to defeat Islam is to prevent them from taking over our country. Step one is to remove their imam from the position of President of the United States.

    • …a few AK-47s. You are right. Best Buy is not supplying AK-47s. Best Buy is affording CAIR the opportunity to buy AK-47s by getting your company to help out in their costs so they can have extra money for seditious activities.

      • The only true way to rid ourselves of Islam is to kill each and every follower of the religion. But some of us would rather boycott than do anything as drastic as that.

  18. We have a large majority of people now living in this country that love money more than anything else and are willing to sell their heritage for a buck.

  19. creepingsharia did not mention target.com as an alternative also.

  20. Atlas Shrugs, Jihad Watch, Elder of Ziyon, Sultan Knish, Gates of Vienna, FrontPage Magazine, Free Republic, PJmedia, American Thinker…………….there is a links list over at left margin!!!!

  21. those are all spam comments – u can tell by where they link back to

and leighanne up above is obviously a CAIR plant

  22. you can delete mine then CS- now it makes no sense ;-)
