There’s a corner of University Avenue in San Diego that’s home to a store called University Market. It’s also home to a Buddhist Temple, a mosque and an Islamic parochial school.
This week, the City Heights Community Planning Committee responded to intense pressure from people who live near the store and voted to oppose a conditional-use permit to allow the market to sell alcohol.
The manager of University Market asked we not use his name. But he argued that so many stores in the vicinity sell beer and wine, one more liquor license would make no difference.
“There’s a 7-Eleven across the street. They sell beer and wine and they’re open 24 hours,” he said. “It’s the same area, same everything!”
He said he needs to sell alcohol, due to financial competition form many new Somali markets that have opened across the street and right next door to him. He said University Market has been a friend to San Diego Somalis, allowing members of the mosque to use the parking lot. Yet they have organized the opposition to his liquor license.
The question of the conditional use permit now goes before the San Diego Planning Commission. Islam forbids the use of alcoholic beverages, but Somalis I spoke with said that is not an issue in this debate.
It never is. Creep creep.
PS: Muslims tried this in Tennessesee and failed.

Well, maybe I’ll just go visit University Market and offer my support. I’m tired of Islam imposing its beliefs on everyone else. It’s not like this market is trying to sell liquor inside the mosque.
There’s a very simple solution, take all of the Somalians and send them back home. They DO NOT belong here period!!!!! I would not let them use the parking lot any more either.
It would appear that the market was there first. Ergo, first come; first serve.
We’re halfway there; now on the other side of the mosque lets see a butchery–selling mainly pork, bacon, salami etc………….
Make room for a Gay strip bar with a rib concession blaring show tunes.
yes, and the butchery holding an outside BBQ every Friday selling hot pork spare ribs, monies raised donated to persecuted minorities in muslim countries….imagine that delicious smell of pork wafting across the street to the mosque..YUMMMM

They do this to a man who generously allowed them to use his parking lot. He should impound every car they park there in the future. The liquor store should have the mosque removed. Thats the more offensive thing. It preaches child sex, sex with the dead, and wants the constitution replaced with sedition, I mean sharia.

Even one of the least tolerant socieites on earth IRAN allows liquor to be sold to non Muslims- all resorts, in Saudi Arabia the heart of Islam, DUBAI and other wealthy tourist traps in Middle East (also Maldives) ALL sell liquor- yup their MUSLIMS sell it to non Muslims.
PS: Just don’t bring your Bible or show a cross. No Jews allowed in these apartheid states.
