Muslim Brotherhood meets with leaders of terrorist Hamas, strengthen ties

McCain, Boehner, Rubio,  coached by Ellison and sworn to by Napolitano will be denying this shortly and framing anyone who mentions it as dangerous. via Gaza PM praises Hamas leader’s meeting with Morsy | Egypt Independent.

Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh praised Egypt’s role in serving the Palestinian cause and said that Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy’s meeting with Hamas leaders on Thursday was “a fruit of the Egyptian revolution.”

Morsy met with a Hamas delegation headed by Khaled Meshaal, head of Hamas’ political bureau, in the presidential palace on Thursday. Hamas described the meeting as “historic,” adding that it was a warm meeting.

Haniyeh said in a Friday sermon that the Arab revolutions would liberate Palestine from the Israeli occupation, stressing that Israel has no future on Palestinian lands.

He added that a high level of Islamic awareness in the region was behind the revolutions, which would achieve the desires of the people.

Haniyeh announced on Thursday that he would meet with Morsy next week.

Morsy and Meshaal on Thursday discussed Egypt’s efforts to support the Palestinian cause, the Palestinian reconciliation process and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, as well as ways of supporting the people of the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was also in Cairo on a separate trip and met with Morsy Wednesday, amid reports that members of Hamas and Fatah would soon conduct their own meeting.

More, Morsi-Meshaal Meeting Elevates Hamas in Egypt-Palestine Relations:

“If you are Abbas, you are very concerned about the strengthening and emboldening of Hamas,” said David Schenker, director of the Program on Arab Politics at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He emphasized that the meeting between Morsi and Meshaal marked the first meeting between Hamas, the militant offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, and an Egyptian head of state.

Symbolically, he said, it raises Meshaal to the level of president.

Though Meshaal is the political leader of Hamas, he leads from exile in Doha, Qatar, while Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh heads the Hamas administration in Gaza. Haniyeh is expected to meet with Morsi next week.

Schenker said one of the roles Morsi had prior to the fall of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was to serve as liaison between the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the Palestinian branch of Hamas. “For the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood there is no institutional prejudice whatsoever against Hamas,” he said. “The atmospherics within these meetings must be shocking to members of Fatah, and not welcome.”

Both Schenker and Gerald M. Steinberg, a political science professor at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, said it was widely believed that a Morsi presidency would mean a dramatic change in Egyptian-Palestinian relations, particularly given the close relationship between the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

Schenker said it remains unlikely that Morsi would put extreme pressure on Hamas to make concessions to Fatah.

These guys are in the same club, and they share a similar worldview vis-à-vis Israel and to a lesser extent vis-à-vis the U.S.,” Schenker said.

Taking bets on when Obama removes Hamas from the list of known terrorist groups: 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of his 2nd term? Or sooner?

  2. Wow! Thanks for the heads-up. Florida’s “hero Marco Rubio wimps out. My goodness.

  3. The thing I like about Bachmann, she separates the men from the boys.

  4. From Salon.com

Rubio: “I can tell you that I don’t share the feelings that are in that letter,” he continued, “And in fact, I’m very very careful and cautious about ever making accusations like that about anyone…..”

What “accusations?” Abedin’s late father, her mother and her brother are shariah-compliant / promoting members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood organization. Nonetheless, Bachmann makes no “accusations.” Here’s the pertinent part of her letter (response) to former Nation of Islam activist, Congressman Keith Ellison:

    http://bachmann.house.gov/uploadedfiles/letter_to_rep._ellison.pdf

    2) (Keith Ellison wrote): “The mother, brother and deceased father of Huma Abedin, Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, and that she, too, ***by extension***, may be working on the organization’s behalf.”

(Bachmann responds:) “Not once in the letter to the Inspector General of the Department of State, as you summarize was it stated that “by extension, (Ms. Abedin), may be working on the organization’s behalf.” In fact, what we wrote was that:

“…the Deputy Chief of Staff, Huma Abedin, has three family members – her late father, her mother and her brother – connected to Muslim Brotherhood operatives and/ or organizations. Her position provides her with routine access to the Secretary and to policy-making.

“That her family members are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood has been reported and referenced widely in the Arab-language media, including Al-Hayat, the Arab Times and Al-Jazerra….”

    • Early this morning I wrote to Rep. Bachmann and Gohmert thanking them for the investigation and encouraging them to keep on it. Will write the othet two this am.

Send a post card. You can use an index card. It gets to their desk where a letter is opened in the post office and checked for anthrax etc. Process takes for ever.

BTW One postcard equals 1,000 constituents.

  5. Now we know why McCain threw the race, he’s one of the Hood too.
And to think I voted for him while holding my nose. Honestly, at that time I was voting for Palin.

  6. people talk about Rubio as if he really cared about the country. He is nothing more than another politician willing to say whatever Boehner tells him to. There are only a few real leaders in D.C, and we know who they are.

    • Maybe, but Rubio is a Senator. He is not a Congressman. Maybe he is influenced by Senator McCain rather than Speaker Boehner. Word has it, he’s being considered as a possible VP choice. This should nip that idea in the bud. I have tried to defer judgment about Rubio. He has not been without scrutiny by folks concerned about illegal immigration and by Tea Party activists who believe he has somewhat distanced himself from the movement.

      • Who on earth could Romney pick that would unite, excite us?
Not Rubio, not Christy, Not Condi, not anyone who has been suggested.

Gohmert, Bolton, Bachmann, Brewer (a lot of B’s there) work for me.

  7. They are getting ready to re-establish the Califart. Camel-driver cults suck big time

  8. It is quite evident that RUBIO is not fit for V-PRESIDENT. Just another
follower like RINO McCAIN and BOEHNERT. Two sad sacks of POOP.
McCain refused to sign against the L O S T treaty giving away the USA
to the U N thugs on national WELFARE. My what a great hero he is.
I DONT THINK SO. LOCK AND LOAD.

  9. The caliphate is solidifying. The Syrian matter will add to the mix.Israel says it may go into Syria…….what will this do ?Lebonon will be after those chem weapons and Anthrax etc.

  10. I cannot express how disappointed I am in all these men.I always knew McCain was not a true conservative. I had to vote for him because I did not have a choice but I respected his military career and the sacrifice he endured for this country.I liked Boehner and had hopes for young Rubio as well but I now am so disillustioned by all of them and mad at my corrupt government. We have no one in which to vote for that is not corrupt in one way or another! I am writing my cats name in on my voting ballot!

  11. Yes! I have decided that I am running my huge, mean, grey Tabby Cat for president! We call her our “Guard Cat” because she thinks she is a dog and she will jump and attack ANYTHING and I do mean anything that comes in HER TERRITORY! (Our Yard) She does not care how big it is or what is is, she will attack it! She has attacked huge dogs and other cats and will run squirrels out of the yard and has taken on possums and racoons! She has attempted to attack other animals that come onto the porch by jumping off the back of the couch and soaring
into the glass door! She has NO FEAR and does not take into consideration her own welfare when it comes to defending her
land from illegal aliens! I think we need her qualities in the Whitehouse!Yes, she definitely will be my write in candidate!
