Sudan
Authorities in Khartoum demolished two church buildings last week, days after confiscating three Catholic schools. Officials from the Ministry of Planning and Housing of the local government authority on June 18 sent bulldozers that destroyed a church building belonging to the St. John Episcopal Church of Sudan.

Native Christian missionaries in Egypt remained concerned Saturday, June 30, saying at least two fellow believers were killed by suspected Islamists since Mohammed Morsi was declared the country’s president. “Yesterday they began by killing two believers in [the area of] el Sharqiya because of this,” the missionary added, speaking on condition of anonymity. These latest reported killings came just weeks after video footage of a convert from Islam to Christianity being murdered by Muslims was shown on on Egyptian television.

Kenya
Attackers with guns and hand-grenades killed at least 17 people and wounded scores more during worship services at two churches Sunday in Kenya. Both attacks occurred in Garissa, a provincial capital about 120 miles west of the Somalia border. Suspicion for the attacks immediately fell upon al Shabaab, a Somalia-based militant group that western governments say has links to al-Qaida, but authorities have not officially named any suspects.

Syria
Thousands of Christians have fled their homes in Syria where news emerged Tuesday, July 3, that intelligence agencies run dozens of torture centers where detainees are beaten with batons and cables, burned with acid, sexually assaulted, and have fingernails torn out.

Iran
Christians on Wednesday, July 11, urged prayers “for everyone” involved in the case of an Iranian pastor who marked his 1,000th day behind bars while awaiting possible execution for refusing to recant his faith in Christ and return to Islam.

Turkey
A Syriac Orthodox Christian monastery, the oldest monastery in the world, is at risk of being eliminated. Under a lawsuit filed by neighboring Muslim villages, the Syriacs are accused of practicing ‘anti-Turkish activities’ by providing an education to young people, including non Christians, and of illegally occupying land which belongs to the neighbouring villages.

Elite cops are investigating claims that terror group al-Shabaab is behind the murders of 14 Christians in the Western Cape. The killings occurred within a 10-month period across the province, from Mossel Bay to Philippi, Macassar and Paarl. All of the victims were Ethiopian Christians living here and the murders were initially thought to be random xenophobic attacks on foreigners.

A new Christian Solidarity report, entitled “Tell My Mother I Miss Her,” confirms that Coptic women and girls are deceptively lured or abducted into forced marriages with Muslim men and then to conversions to Islam, which frequently take place under duress and physical abuse.

Dr. Yassir al-Burhami, a prominent figure in Egypt’s Salafi movement and vice president of the Salafi Call . . . has just issued a fatwa, published in the “Voice of the Righteous Salaf,” forbidding Muslim taxi-drivers and bus-drivers from transporting Coptic Christian priests to their churches, which he depicted as “more forbidden than taking someone to a liquor bar.”

Pakistan
A Christian couple from Ichhra have been on the run for six years after facing threats from Muslim neighbours who would not let them rever to Christianity after embracing Islam.

Saudi Arabia

Saudi authorities arrested a local man and a Lebanese on charges of converting a Saudi woman to Christianity and smuggling her to Lebanon.

Church officials and politicians in Akkar played down the impact of a flyer dropped at a church the area, ahead of next month’s visit to the area by Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai. Signed by the “Soldiers of the Great Prophet,” the flyer warns “infidels” and vows to fight against them, starting from Akkar.

Muslims on Friday set fire to Christian homes in a village near the Egyptian capital after a fight between a Muslim man and a Christian laundry worker who singed his shirt while ironing it, police said.

I am sure all these will be the headlines on the “Atheist Broadcasting Center” =ABC and the “Nazi Broadcasting Center” =NBC and the “Communist Broadcasting System” =CBS and I am sitting here holding my breath waiting on it!
