Texas House declares “Muslim Day” but no signatures required on resolution

487604_477164118980854_1531027072_n

Why not? Why wouldn’t politicians in Texas follow the normal procedures and sign this important resolution declaring it Muslim Day across Texas? Why wouldn’t these politicians want their constituents to know they supported a day for Muslims – a day to advocate for sharia law in Texas? More importantly, why were the rules changed for Muslim Day? via The Dallas Morning News.

Muslim Day resolution procedure is altered

House members deviated from their usual practice Thursday for a resolution declaring it Muslim Day at the Capitol.

The sponsor of the legislation routinely asks that all names of House members be added to resolutions.

But Rep. Lon Burnam, D-Fort Worth, said that as a courtesy to some members, he would not ask for the names to be added.

Instead, he asked those who wished to honor Texas Muslims to sign the resolution in the House clerk’s office.

Islamic organizations and mosques from across the state came to Austin to meet with elected officials and advocate civic participation by Muslims and interfaith partners.

The Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said that the event prompted threats online, forcing an increased police presence.

The day was the creation of terror-linked, FBI-banned CAIR and its many like-minded sharia-promoting Muslims and others.

Update thanks to abdulameer via a4a Observations on Texas Muslim Capitol Day

I found it troubling when he said, “Following the law of the land is part of shariah. We follow the law of  the land – in fact if we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land. The law doesn’t affect us at all.” This was not news to me, but this boldness of saying it in the sessions caught me off-guard.

This was only the second Texas Muslim Capitol Day. The turnout was greater than it was in 2011. I would estimate approximately 300 people attended. I think the increase could be largely attributed to the fact that the attendees were bused from Houston and Dallas.

Texas House declares “Muslim Day” but no signatures required on resolution

  2. Guess there is Islamic money to be had for re-election.

  3. What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Now, how about a “Christian Day” and a “Buddhist Day” and a “Mormon Day” and a “Jewish Day” and a “Hindu Day”. Good luck!

  4. The only TRUE Muslim Day in America will be declared when we have purged the country of the filth that has infected and been thrust upon us by an inept and naive government.

No More Muslims in America will lead to the official MUSLIM DAY.

  5. I suggest the people WISE UP, RISE UP! These elected goons are dangerous and destructive!~

  6. Tell me please Louie Gohmert did not sigh this. Anyone know?

    • Louie is US Representative. This is in the Statehouse.

      • Oops! Phew.Thank you!

        • I’m a Canadian, but I’m CERTAIN Gohmert would NEVER sign such a piece of shit even if he was in the State house!!!
Louie is a little over the top at times, but he’s one helluva lot more right than he is wrong.

What is WRONG with these gutless politicians???!!!

          • Anonymous, did you continue to read the rest of the comments? Oh, and I don’t Louie Gohmert is ever over the top. :-}.

          • dobinTexas

            I am the Canadian “anonymous” above..my “handle” miss-fired, I guess…LOL
I thought I read the rest of the comments…but what did I miss?

In my humble opinion, the entire world is in serious trouble with these islamist/muslim/scum.
There was apparently some kind of event in a city in India involving some anti-muslim protest, and the POLICE in the city pressured the organizers to cancel the event because they were afraid of the usual muslim demostration of mass insanity for which they are so well known.

I am sketchy on the details, so forgive me.
But INDIA is mostly Hindu/Sikh, and they are SUPPOSED to be totally anti muslim.
My point is: if India starts rolling over for these lunatics…we are in very, VERY SERIOUS TROUBLE!!!

I fear a war with these innbreds is inevitable.
Centuries of cousin on cousin inbreeding HAS to be the reason they are all so C-R-A-ZY!!!
Some think they will self destruct…(that couldn’t happen soon enough, in my books…), and maybe Egypt/Syria/Libya is the start of that happening…?
            We can only hope.

Never the less, please enlighten me on the Louie Gohmert comment.
            Thanks.

          • Amboyduke, I meant did you read the rest of the comments on this particlar article, not just savedpatriot’s. You asked what is wrong with these gutless politicians and I showed below that the Texas politicians are not gutless.

I agree that the organized Muslim Brotherhood (and the Iranian fanatics) is an extremely dangerous threat to the world. I agree that they want to impose Sharia law on us. Stopping the MB should be the goal, I think, by stopping the use of Sharia, not thinking we can eliminate Islam from the earth. Texas is in the process of putting a halt to using foreign law in its courts now. More ways will come. Not signing the Resolution was one.

          • dobTexas

Thanks for the response, and when I was referring to “gutless politicians” I wasn’t directing that to any specific group…although it did appear I directed it towards the Texans in this article, My error! LOL

It was just a general statement about the way it seems ALL politicians all over the western world won’t take a stand against islam…and I mean ALL of islam. Even conservatives/republicans.

Up here in Canada, our Liberals and New Democrats will do ANYTHING to garner a vote…they are the most dispicable people imaginable!!!

You, also, in some parts of the States have the same problem…and it’s scary!

The MB are smart…CRAZY(?), yes…but SMART, SLIPPERY and PATIENT…they are long term planners and we HAVE TO STOP THEM, and not all states are as ballsy as Texas…
As a Canadian, I dread the idea of the United States of America slipping into the grip of islam, because I’m sure you know, you and I are essentially joined at the hip…and if the U.S.of A. goes in the shitter, we (Canada) will be the little turd that follows right behind the big one, (you) !!! LOL
If the U.S. falls, the entier west is done for!!!
We may be dead and gone…but my grand children won’t!!

And to think that Geraldo Rivera is SERIOUSLY pandering to the Republican Party as a candidate…!!!
Honest to God, your country HAS to be able to do better than THAT!!!

            If I didn’t laugh, I’d cry!!! LOL

          • It’s good to talk to a Canadian about this. I happened to send around an email to my blast list not long ago, applauding your news people for all the times they’ve dug into the Islamist problem, while ours seems to be totally blank to the subject. ( I know they’re not, they’re deliberately avoiding the subject.) But here you are, feet on the ground, telling me you guys aren’t in any better shape up there than we are down here. Not encouraging.
Yes, we have leaders who know what’s what here, but they’re Conservative Republicans and that’s a definite minority. The Big Hussein in the White House is the one ruining the country, as if I’m telling you anything new. He’s hand-in-glove with the Muslim Brotherhood. Stop him, stop the MB. Stop the MB, stop the world-wide jihad. Well, stop him and put a Conservative Republican in the White House, shake the enemy out of the U.S. halls of government in every city and state, and then we can get a good run on getting back to “normal” for both our countries. The non-political Muslims left over won’t matter. Truly, they had no idea what they were doing at that Muslim Day in Austin, Texas; they were background fodder for the blog cameras.
No promises from me, of course, but I wish I had ’em to offer. We are all certainly in a heap of trouble. And I personally lay the blame on the 51% who put Hussein back in office for the 2nd time (I blamed ’em for the 1st time, too). Anyway, been nice chatting with you.

A little blatant self-promotion here: You could hear from me again if Creeping allows me to advertise my book; should be out in March. Creeping, how do I connect with you to do that? :-}.

          • What exactly is not signing the resolution a start of?

Reps that are opposed to it should not permit the day to occur next year as long as any member of CAIR or ISNA or any other unindicted co-conspirator to the Holy Land Foundation conviction are participating – but in this case leading. That should make sense to most logical Texans since the case took place in Dallas and the Federal government refused to remove that status from CAIR.

Unfortunately, most rep are probably unaware of CAIR’s involvement and status, which is where citizens need to get involved.

  7. [...] this is why House members in Texas didn’t want their name on the “Muslim Day” resolution they approved. h/t [...]

  8. I LOVE TEXAS — I live in Maryland right now

  9. Texas had its FIRST Muslim Day in 2005. Every year after the Texas Legislature has recognized it. Finally, looks like somebody woke up and dissented!

  10. This is not what it appears to be.

  11. if it isn’t what it appears to be, then what is it? sounds and smells like dhimmitude; don’t blame folks for not signing it. when push comes to shove they will be glad they had no part in it.
wonder what would happen if other faiths mentioned above wanted a ‘day’ in Texas; will they not sign that and pass it?
so much hypocrisy and lying, and why; because folks don’t want to be beheaded which is their end agenda. wake up folks.

  12. The “normal procedure” that was altered was putting all the House reps names on it. Rep Lon Burnam (D-Fort Worth) apparently got a great deal of push-back from the representatives. They did not want their names on the resolution, so to save face, Burnam had to resort to asking only those who wanted to, to put their names on the House Clerk’s record. There were 24 Representatives names on the list when Burnam published HR237; 5 sponsors, 19 co-sponsors (all but 2 were Democrats). Texas State Representatives should be applauded for doing the right thing here, folks.

  13. PS. I should note that we have 150 representatives in Texas. 95 Repubicans, and 55 Democrats.

  16. [...] And from that tiny article in the Dallas Morning News came this comment: Why not? 17. Creeping . . . “. . . should not permit . . .” I think you probably know that what you’re saying isn’t legal. If it were, CAIR, et.al., wouldn’t be in the White House, either. Any members of Congress could set up the STAY OUT sign and they couldn’t come in. But it doesn’t work like that, of course. If it did, WE’d be the first to be kept out, as I’m sure you understand.

I cannot speak for all Texas Reps or Senators’ knowledge base, but I can say that both chambers have filed bills for American Law for American Courts and the co-sponsor for the bill in the House does not anticipate any serious difficulty with its passage this year (considering that it passed – as wording attachment, not a separate bill) three times in 2011, so yes, I think it’s safe to say we have a very “aware” state legislature. That’s why Rep Burnam ran into his difficulty with the resolution this year, because of burgeoning and blossoming awareness from past years’ work from all of us involved in the effort to expose the Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia law’s deleterious effects on Texas citizens.

I always keep in mind, too, that legislators have to keep 100 things in mind, and I only have to keep one in mind; so it’s up to me to make that one an important part of their 100.

    • Okay, but here’s the dilema, in my opinion, if I read this right.

The fact that your Constitution allows this to happen is the problem.
(I certainly have no idea how to affect a change in your Constitution to get around this “catch 22″)

Talk about a “double edged sword”!

Islam is “using” the Const. to further it’s ends and make strides under the guise of religion, when it is sooooo much more than a religion.
As we all know, it really is a political ideology disquised, or at least mixed with, religion.
And their sly, yet blatant use of the “religious” aspect is how they are weakening the Constitution. (I.M.H.O.)
Maybe It’s “political” aspect should/could be turned against it to strip it of of it’s ability to continue to rape your Constitution…?

I certainly don’t have to tell you I am no Costitutional lawyer, but ther MUST be a way to do something like that…no?
      Just an idea…?

      • Oh, absolutely. There is nothing constitutional about Sharia law, so we’re moving on it. There is nothing constitutional about The Muslim Brotherhood, so we’re moving on that. They and Hussein are moving faster, unfortunately, to close down freedom of speech thru the g/d UNHRC and so the world can surely still go dark, but there are thousands of us doing our best to beat them to the draw (an American phrase).

American Law for American Courts has become law in 4 states so far: LA, TN, AZ, & KS. I expect TX to come in with it this year. That law simply states that no judge or justice can use foreign law to make decisions if that foreign law would adversely effect/negate the citizen’s constitutional rights. This primarily impacts civil cases, which is where Sharia works a lot. There are two other laws working in LA, I think, that make supporting terrorists a crime, and there are at least 26 states that make female genital mutilation a crime; LA is one of them. I’ve heard there are 4-5 more bills all aimed to offset specific Sharia laws. As we get more sophisticated at passing these, the states will be able to bundle them into laws, I hope. ALAC is under consideration in at least 25 states that I know of. All the conservative states.

I personally hope that we begin to take aim at the mosques; they are a danger to our citizens and are not by any means primarily places of worship. The constitution allows for the freedom of religious belief, but not for how that belief is expressed: If imams are promoting sedition and honor killing, they might very well be considered dangerous to the community. It takes the right laws to stop them.

The Muslim Brotherhood is also moving fast in getting its members seated in city councils in US cities, which is the real real real threat, but if we can get a decent US president in place and take the MB (in all its fronts) to trial for sedition, the tentacles dry up and the support goes away and those people lose their seats on city councils. We have the evidence; we need the political support to do it.

You Canadians can help by passing these same kind of laws, though like you, I don’t know how it works up there.

        • Definitely, take aim at the mosques. Just as Islam, in the words of the leading Islamic religious authorities, is NOT a religion like other religions, so a mosque is not just a house of prayer. A mosque is also a propagation center for Islamic ideology, something like a Communist Party Headquarters or a Nazi Party Headquarters. Yusuf Qaradawi, the most respected Islamic religious authority in the world, had this to say:
“The mosque at the time of the prophet was his propagation center, the headquarters of the State, as it was for his successors… the mosque was their base for all their activities political as well as non-political…. As Muslims [politics] is part of our religion, for it is doctrine and worship. A system for the whole of life… and the mission of the mosque as required by correct Islam is not an isolation from … politics… The mosque must then have a role in guiding the nation and informing her about the critical issues and making her see her enemies. From ancient times, the mosque has had a role in jihad for the sake of Allah, … That blessed Intifada in the land of the prophets, Palestine, started from none other but the mosques; and its first call came from the minarets; and it was first known as the mosque revolution. The mosque’s role in the Afghan jihad and every Islamic jihad… cannot be denied.”

Turkey’s PM Erdogan quoted these lines:
“The mosques are out barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers…”

          • Gentlemen, thank you!
You cleared up several points for me!

Canada is a lot more “liberal” as an entire nation than the U.S.

We have 2 parties up here that make my skin crawl and they are contenders as far as forming a federal government is concerned.

Right now we have Pierre Trudeau’s half-baked son, Justin, running for the federal liberal leadership, and sadly, there are enough delusional imbeciles in this country to elect a moron like him!!

Thanks again, you’ve given me some really good verbal ammunition!

            God help us!

Read the koran to see the true colors of these savages.

    • Dallas Kelly, would you consider reading the comments? I spent a considerable amount of time at the time explaining why your immediate take on this story was not the correct one. Thank you.

  22. […] In January 2013, the Texas House declared “Texas Muslim Capitol Day.” […]

  23. This crap makes me sick!!!! If it makes me a racist then thats what I am but as wrong as I may be I say if u are of Arabic descent then u deserve to rot in HELL!!!!!! I am a proud Texan and this is total bullshit!!!! Who gives a damn if we offend muslims?!!? I hope I can offend a muslim everyday, I have nothing but pure hatred 4 that whole damn race!! I dnt care if they not all bad, ur people ruined 4 u when they decided to be terrorists!!!!

  24. Jame, I am a proud Texan too…born and raised here. Who the hell did this crap!!!!!

    • I was so upset, I didn’t spell your name right! JAMES!
Who EVER did this……His checking accounts need to be examined very closely!

      • Yes they do, someone must be making a hell of a profit off this, u continuously hear about muslims causing terror and death all over the PLANET and now they have a muslim day?!!? What the hell is goin on?!!? Now I do hate to sound like a racist violent jerk cause im not at all but I just can not go along with this, I know im not the only one who thinks like this!!

        • You are not being racist! We see actions, horrible actions all over the planet due to this ONE group of people. And, that is the common thread… they are Muslims.
That, my friend, is stating a FACT. Facts are NOT racist. They are just FACTS.

  25. People, read the comments above. All the history is there. And you might be interested in knowing that the Dem rep who twice presented the resolution (he was a 7-term rep, I think), Lon Burnam, was defeated in this year’s primaries. Who knows what changes his successor, Ramon Romero, Jr., will bring to Tarrant County, district 90 in the 2015 session.
