Benghazi: Not about Video, Military Personnel ‘Furious’ Over Stand Down Order

As readers here knew all along, the video had nothing to do with the attack on Benghazi.

Hicks says ‘I’ve been demoted’ for challenging Susan Rice’s claims about blaming video

Gregory Hicks, former deputy chief of mission in Benghazi, told Congress today that a State Department official began criticizing his job performance, and he was ultimately demoted, after he asked why U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice attributed the Benghazi attack to an anti-Islamic Youtube video.

“In hindsight, I think it began after I asked the question about Ambassador Rice’s statement on the TV shows,” Hicks said of the criticism during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on the attack today.

Hicks said he asked Assistant Secretary Beth Jones why Rice made the statements that she did on the 9/16/13 Sunday talk shows.

“Her reaction was ‘I don’t know,’ and it was very clear from the tone that I should not proceed with any further [questions],” he told lawmakers.

Hicks told the committee, “I’ve effectively been demoted from deputy chief of mission to desk officer.”

  1. There are many unanswered questions. Why didn’t the Turkish Ambassador send help? Was he told to stand down too? Turkey is a member state of NATO after all. The White House was watching this thing unfold in real time. So, the order to stand down would have been an act of egregious dereliction of duty, and or murder. But why? Why was the decision to stand down given? Could it be that Clinton and Valerie Jarred did not want to hurt allies that we counted on to take Syria down? In any event, Clinton and Obama lied to Congress and the American people. Criminal action needs to be taken against both of them.

  2. Maybe stand down was more personal. Did Stevens have some info that admin. didn’t want public? Dead men tell no tales and there seems to be an increasing number…

  3. These people didn’t need “Mommies” in some other country telling them that they were “with them”! They needed well armed, well trained, blood thirsty warriors on the spot to protect them. In short, this was murder by inaction, a willful blood sacrifice, to Allah/Islam, little more.

How stupid does this administration think we are? The Internet is rife with anti-Islam videos. There is no reason for any particular video to stand out and “cause” this. This administration is one of lies and deception.

Less than 4 years to go.

  4. Audacity of hope states Obama will side with Islam if the winds blow against it. Well, that happened. The US elected him, maybe. Get over it. Expect him to side with islam no matter what they do. He has to. The US has its first islamic president, and he indeed according to his faith sides against us and stands with islam. Read the Koran! Learn!

Thank the democrats for finding him, funded by the saudis ran him as a black man. Well, he is a black man. More importantly, a muslim. How did electing someone based on his skin color work? They also ran someone based on their sex. All good qualities to run a politically correct libtard country, I am sure. Someone suggest they should repeal the law of gravity. I am sure that would get a lot of votes from them.
