Is Sacramento mayor, Democrat and former NBA star, Kevin Johnson, aware that a Muslim group with whom he is working and attended an annual banquet for, was founded by Islamic terrorist-linked individuals? Is he aware that the group, CAIR, is an unindicted co-conspirator to a convicted terrorist-funding group? Or that the FBI has warned its agents not to meet with CAIR? If not, could he possibly be aware that both Democrats and Republicans have recommended that CAIR be banned from any official contact with the U.S. government? Is Mayor Johnson aware that the CAIR member he has selected to serve on his own transition team, Basim Elkarra, refused to condemn terrorist groups Hamas and Hizbollah, and Senator Barbara Boxer rescinded an award to Elkarra over CAIR’s terrorist connections?
How about California Democrat, Assemblyman Dave Jone, who used his opportunity as KEYNOTE speaker for the CAIR banquet, to lambast U.S. policies since 9/11. Apparently no mention of what happened on 9/11. That’s not really important anymore – if it ever was in California. His comments echo those of liberals and appeasers who can offer little more than blame and ridicule on all things American while heaping praise on those who’s stated goals are anti-American.
Another unindicted co-conspirator – in the 1993 World Trade Center bombings – spoke at the fund raising banquet. Pro-terror, anti-American Siraj Wahaj should also be on California politicians radar – but clearly they are not concerned.
Yet, in what might be the most telling statement reported by WRMEA.com on CAIR – Sacramento’s sixth annual banquet, there is this quote:
“This was so amazing. We had the opportunity to debate legislators on the Senate floor,” enthused Sadia Saifuddin, a senior at Stockton’s Lincoln High School. “We are the future of Islamic America and it is our job to carry the torch of Islam to the best of our ability.”
Islamic America. With, or in many instances without, debate, mock or real, in the legislature, adherents of sharia law are carrying the torch of Islam striving for an Islamic America. Terror-connected, Saudi-financed , FBI-banned CAIR is leading the way.
With few exceptions, Senators and future non-Muslim leaders in the U.S. are unprepared to debate issues such as Hamas, Hizbollah, jihad, sharia law, taqiyya, hudna, and the differences between political Islam and the supposed religion of Islam (if they can be separated).
We can’t even, or we refuse to, separate our politicians from Islamic terrorist-linked groups. This can best be described as infiltration. CAIR has hired elected North Carolina Senator Larry Shaw to be its Chairman and direct line to president Barack Hussein Obama. Shaw, a Muslim, is not the first U.S. politician to work for CAIR, and unless a drastic measure is taken, he won’t be the last. Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison is a strong CAIR supporter and advocate, also a Muslim. And there are many other politicians in CAIR’s pocket that we aren’t listing or are unaware of to date.

THE SACRAMENTO Valley chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SV) kicked off its sixth annual banquet Nov. 15 with opening remarks by emcees Athar Siddiqee, CAIR-SFBA vice president, and California Senate consultant Aidan Ali-Sullivan. More than 500 guests gathered at Sacramento’s Radisson Hotel for an evening of fine dining, fund-raising, and to honor community members for outstanding service during the past year.
Following comments by CAIR-SV president Yousef Marmosh, newly elected Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson made a brief appearance at the gala. Taking to the stage amid cheers and applause, the former Phoenix Suns basketball star vowed to “make Sacramento a model city when it comes to expressing the diversity of our community” and to ensure that the Muslim community has input and access to the mayor’s office.
Executive director Basim Elkarra, who also serves on Johnson’s transition team, highlighted CAIR’s numerous challenges and accomplishments during the past year, including the Muslim Youth Leadership Program (see following item).
Prior to the evening’s speeches and a rousing fund-raising session by the dynamic Imam Siraj Wahhaj of New York’s Masjid Al-Taqwa, awards were presented to individuals for their extraordinary contributions to the community.
Post-script: The web site Uproxx had this to say about mayor Johnson:
Kevin Johnson, an accused sexual predator many times over and the soon-to-be-former mayor of Sacramento, was hit in the face with a pie at a benefit dinner Wednesday night.
The Sacramento Police Department (h/t Deadspin) released a photo of pie-thrower Sean Thompson, and it’s hard to swallow the idea that Kevin Johnson was the victim here.
