Twice in one week, Muslims in positions of influence agreed that Islam has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to homosexuality, and that gays should be killed (Ellen DeGeneres, Barney Frank – that includes you even if you remain silent)
First, Vanderbilt (Tennessee) University’s Muslim chaplain, from WND:
I go with what Islam teaches,” said Awadh A. Binhazim, who is listed on the Vanderbilt website as “Adjunct Professor of Islam at the Divinity School” and an adviser to the Muslim Student Association. His comments came earlier this week at a diversity event for students.
He was asked directly, “Under Islamic law is it punishable by death if you are a homosexual?”
Binhazim said, “Yes. It is punishable by death.”
Vanderbilt University chose not to admonish the Muslim chaplain who, although not paid, clearly represents and is approved by the school. Rather they defended the comments as staunch advocates of free speech. We expect, in the very near future, that Vanderbilt will openly welcome Wafa Sultan, Geert Wilders, Nonie Darwish and others who speak about Islamic sharia law.
Vanderbilt is committed to free speech. It is equally committed to a policy of non-discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, national origin or sexuality.
There has been some confusion as to Binhazim’s role at Vanderbilt. He is the Muslim chaplain at Vanderbilt, a volunteer position. He is not a professor of Islam and is not associated with Vanderbilt University Divinity School. He has adjunct associate professor status at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in pathology. This position, which carries no teaching or research responsibilities, is also unpaid.
More interesting, is that the Q&A from which that video was taken, was part of what was billed as “basic training” on Islam. Apparently the U.S. military vetted and approved this joint Army ROTC and Muslim Brotherhood-linked Muslim Student Association event. In light of the Ft. Hood jihad, the suspension of Louay Safi, and the new Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy – is the Army aware that their Muslim representative is hosting speakers who hold positions contrary to their own policy?
Islam educator Awadh A. Binhazim and Capt. Darryl A. Cox, an Army Reserve officer who converted to Islam, will offer free “basic training” on Islam Monday, Jan. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Vanderbilt University.
Cox is on active duty orders working under the Operations and Intelligence Section as the homeland defense coordinator, antiterrorism officer and physical security officer for the Southeastern Medical Area Readiness Group in Nashville. He converted to Islam in November 1999 after extensive study of the religion. He is still a fervent student of Islam and has fulfilled his obligation to perform the Hajj (sacred pilgrimage to Makkah, Saudi Arabia).
President of the Islamic Council of Jamaica, Mustafa Muhammad, says he agrees with the Sharia law which prescribes death for people who openly flaunt homosexual behaviour.
Muhammad did not mince words as he lashed out against what he described as an unclean, unnatural lifestyle.
“It is illegal and in the Sharia law the punishment is death. If you follow Christianity it is a crime in the sight of God. He destroyed a whole city because of this thing. It is an ungodly practice and I apologise to no one for this,” Muhammad said. […]
Muhammad made sure to state that he was against the killing of gays in Jamaica.
“This can only be done in a country that is being run by Islam,” he said.
Jamaica, recently repatriated a Muslim cleric who was convicted of terror-related charges and deported from the U.K. and from Kenya. Will he be cavorting with the Islamic Council of Jamaica? More links on Islam’s jihad against gays in the U.S. below.
