California: Muslims convert another residential home to mosque, whine about opposition

via Mosque supporters claim Chino neighborhood is anti-Muslim –

Proponents of the proposed Al-Nur mosque in an unincorporated area near Chino claim residents are fearful of Muslims coming to their community.

Neighbors of the proposed Islamic center have been in a legal battle with members of the Bangladeshi Sunni Muslim group over the building of a 7,512-square-foot mosque on 1.5 acres.

A court ruling earlier this year found the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors’ approval of the project was justified but still ruled the Muslim group would have to certify the facility’s septic system to comply with county and state environmental codes.

The group is allowed to use the center — at 4797 Phillips Blvd. — in an unincorporated area between Ontario and Chino, as a temporary prayer center, with no more than 30 people using the site for daily services.

Proponents of the center say the neighbors have an bias against Muslims and will continue to fight the expansion of the building.

“I believe that the issue is not the septic tank but rather Islamophobia,” said Rashid Ahmed, the chairman of Al-Nur Islamic Center. “They think Islam is coming to their neighborhood and it’s going to destroy their culture.

“This neighborhood for some reason doesn’t like us; otherwise, why are they filing one lawsuit after another, wasting their money, appeal after appeal?” Ahmed said.

But the legal counsel for the neighbors, who formed Save Our Uniquely Rural Community Environment, said the Muslim group’s claim of Islamophobia is “ridiculous.”

“It has nothing to do with religion. It was the mosque’s lawyers who made it about religion. From day one, they were threatening to sue the county under RLUIPA,” said Vic Otten, an attorney representing the Chino residents said, referring to the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.

“Our clients never made this about religion, they simply don’t want a commercial establishment in their rural neighborhood.”

Federal law protects individuals, houses of worship and other religious institutions from discrimination in zoning laws, according to the U.S. Department of Justice’s website.

Otten said the mosque’s expansion would be like “putting a 7-Eleven next to your house.”

Even with the temporary-use permit to conduct daily prayers, Otten said the mosque is exceptionally busy during the month of Ramadan.

And they do it without a permit, and the county looks the other way,” he said. “Let’s take religion out of there. If you were living there, and you wanted to have a party, it wouldn’t be unacceptable. But here again the mosque is allowed to do whatever they want without any ramifications, and we have to run to court and ask an impartial judge to make them follow the law.”

Otten said his clients are filing another lawsuit this week based on the permit and sewage issue.

The end goal is to have them follow the law, and they can do what they want to do and that’s fine, but they need to follow the law, particularly (state) law that is designed to protect the environment,” he said.

Ahmed said the mosque had tried to arrange a sewer connection from Chino but later found out the city could not provide those services because the project did not meet the city’s standards.

“We are working on that now, we’re going to the city of Chino to give them as much information as possible,” he said.

To help with the mosque’s legal battle, members of the Pomona Valley Chapter of Progressive Christians Uniting have raised almost $10,000 in support of the mosque.

“If this was an Episcopal church, we would not have this kind of problem,” said Father John Forney, chapter organizer of the interfaith group that equips individuals and communities for leadership in the 21st century, according to its website.

If it was a church they wouldn’t have the problem because the church wouldn’t impose itself on a residential neighborhood threatening federal lawsuits and the court wouldn’t allow them to operate outside the zoning laws. In face, whereas cities allow illegal mosques in residential homes and neighborhoods, they Fine Christians for Home Bible Study.

According to real estate sites online, this is or was clearly a residential home, not a mosque.

  1. if you don’t want the mulims there get a bunch of hogs, pigs and run it over the property they want to buy. buy a pot belly pig for a pet and take it for a walk along the muslim live, but don’t for get to be armed and be with enough people with you because muslims are cowards face to face with equals facing them off. Do not trust in the law or at lease the sharea law for many american courts are ignoring our constitution.

  2. Why are “progressive Christians” supporting this abomination? Idiots. Don’t they realize the imams will take their money and preach against them, working their followers to a frenzy of anti-Christian hate every Friday?
Christans who support Islam are in no sense Christians; they are politically correct secular humanists who believe all religions are true…which is to say none of them is true…which is the policy of the Left.
Thus humanism leads us to eventual Sharia compliance because unless Christians and Jews unite to stand against the aggressive takeover being forced by Muslims under the banner of victimhood, we are doomed to have our liberality turned against us.
    Not Islamophobia; just Islamorealism.

    • I was in Eastern Tennessee last week and went to a number of churches. I asked individuals what they think od the islamic moving into their neighborhoods. The tell me that they are leaving it in Gods hands, because when the trouble starts they will be raptured up, so they do nothing.
I forgot the exact part of the new new testiment about believers complaining about other believers not working in the fields because they too were waiting for the rapture. I believe Paul wrote and said if you don’t work you don’t eat.
The other thing is that Jesus christ also admitted that he didn’t know the time or hour when the second return will come. But christians today are saying when the rapture will be here before all the trouble starts.
Wake up fellow christians and jews it is time to turn your blows into swords and if the rapture comes then no problem, but if not the rapture doesn’t come our children or our childrens children will be here for the rapture for we will defeat the islamic devils and crush them so hard that they would not bare raise up against the chritians again for 1000 years.

      • There’s no such thing as a rapture and if you sit around waiting for that nonsense you’re a sitting duck. I think a spaceship coming down to swoop you up is more realistic – in other words, not going to happen, ever.

By the look of current events it seems it’s the Muslims once again going for world domination, and the Christians, who’ve had great success at world domination for about 2000 years, are in the way. Of course, no religious power willingly gives up world domination once it has obtained it.

How do you think the Christians got it? Same way the Muslims are doing it now. Including all the violence, gore, tortures, beheadings, oppression and maiming of women, invasions in the name of the Christian god, and the doctrine of Manifest Destiny.

        Nothing new under the sun.

So, it looks very much like the Christians and Muslims will be fighting it out between themselves once again. And once again the whole world is in danger from this ridiculous crap.

        • we still have to deal with it.
But i will inform you that in the first century and the next 500 years christianity spread like wild fire and the christians didn’t kill mame or rape anyone.
christianity didn’t change unti constantine made it a world religion and required his soldiers and subjects to be christians.
I say thank GOD he did for if it wasn’t for the church stopping the muslim mureders at tours and spain we all would be muslims today and we wouldn’t be free but slaves to islam.

        • There is definitely going to be a rapture. When it will happen is a topic for speculation. In the meantime, we are told to be ready…believe in and trust in Jesus…and live our lives in a way that would bring glory and honor and draw people to Him.

And yes, the Christians who are alive on earth at that time will disappear. I think all this talk about aliens is just setting the world up to believe the great deception when it happens…that aliens took all the “bad” people away.

When you mention the past and present violence, etc., you are confusing actions from people who say they are Christians with actual Christians. Just because someone does something in the name of Christ does not mean Christ approves of it.

The final battle on earth will be between the forces of the one-true God of the Bible and Satan and his followers. God wins. It is best to be on His side, sooner than later.

Do you believe that George Washington lived? You’ve never seen him, so why would you? You believe that George Washington lived because you trust the testimony of the witnesses who saw him. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead. I’ve never seen Him, but I trust the testimony of the witnesses who saw Him. If I thought you would be interested in Chapters and verses I would list more of them. In the meantime, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1. I will pray that you take the small step of faith and aren’t left behind.

          God bless you.

    • They are NOT Christians.. .They do NOT follow the bible.
They are extreme left liberals, in support of sharia over the constitution by action.

When is a Snake in the Grass not a Snake in the Grass?

When it is a Trojan Horse.

When is a Trojan Horse not a Trojan Horse ?

When it is the Elephant in the Room.

When is the Elephant in the Room not the Elephant in the Room ?

When politicians make it a Sacred Cow.

When is a Sacred Cow not a Sacred Cow ?

When enough people realize it is a Wolf in Sheep`s Clothing

The Episcopal Church affirmed at the 1976 General Convention that homosexuals are “children of God” who deserve acceptance and pastoral care from the church and equal protection under the law.

Despite the affirmation of gay rights, the General Convention affirmed in 1991 that “physical sexual expression” is only appropriate within the monogamous, lifelong “union of husband and wife.”[43] The first openly homosexual priest, Ellen Barrett, was ordained in 1977.[44] The first openly homosexual bishop, Gene Robinson, was elected in June 2003.[45] Robinson’s election caused a crisis in both the American church and the wider Anglican Communion. In October 2003, an emergency meeting of the Anglican primates (the heads of the Anglican Communion’s 38 member churches) was convened. The meeting’s final communiqué included the warning that if Robinson’s consecration proceeded, it would “tear the fabric of the communion at its deepest level.”[46]

In recent decades, the Episcopal Church, like other mainline churches, has experienced a decline in membership. There has also been internal controversy, mainly over women’s ordination and the place of homosexuals in the church.

    • I agree that If the so-called “progressive Christians” support this then they are not true Christians. “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15.

  3. This is why there are zoning laws. Residential areas do not have anything in them except family homes. Some residential areas allow you to have chickens…some horses, and are zoned appropriately, We can have chickens, (but no rooster), and no horses where I live. The regulations are there for a reason. If you don’t like the regulations in a certain area you have to live somewhere else or petition and get them changed. How complicated can this be? If the people in the area don’t want them changed then you can’t do what you want there. Unless, of course , crooked politicians get involved. However, the words “crooked politicians” are redundant now-a-days.

  4. “There’s no such thing as a rapture and if you sit around waiting for that nonsense you’re a sitting duck.”

    A sitting duck for what?

    • From the Muslims. ‘StoryTMan’ mentions in his post as Muslims being what the rapture will save him from.

  5. i agree we got to stop sitting around waiting for the rapture. We need to get ready and leave the results in God’s hands, But if we do nothing we will surley parrish and our way of life gone forever

  6. “From the Muslims.”

Okay. Let’s say the minority of Christians who believe in the rapture – for it is a minority, even here in the U.S. – suddenly quit believing it. Result is that no Christians anywhere believed in it anymore. Two questions:

    1. What specifically would Christians look forward to instead?

    2. What positive effect would that have on how we’re to deal with Muslims…or with anyone else, for that matter?

    • You didn’t address your question to me but, if you don’t mind, I’ll give you my explanation.

      (1) We look forward to tomorrow…God has seen it and will be there with us…no matter what it holds. We look forward to an eternity with God…in heaven or wherever He deems fit. There will be a new earth, by the way. God has shown us a little of heaven and a little of hell. No hell for me, thank God.

      (2) The Bible says that belief in and trust in the God of the Bible (Jesus) is the one-way to heaven. Islam teaches no such thing so it’s followers are heading for hell. God loves everyone, including the Muslims, and subsequently, we do also. If you love someone you will do all you can to help them avoid hell.

The last thing Jesus said to us before He left earth is referred to as “The Great Commission”. “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20.

  7. “i agree we got to stop sitting around waiting for the rapture. We need to get ready”

Again, get ready for *what* exactly? You guys aren’t being clear.

  8. 1. What specifically would Christians look forward to instead?

…Living life in the HERE and NOW?
…Making the most of a life/body/spirit/talents God gave you in this lifetime instead of constantly focusing on what’s next?

    • Our life here on earth is but a blink-of-an-eye in relation to the time we will spend in eternity. What we do while here on earth will determine how, and where, we spend eternity.

      • Exactly, Joy.

As a patriot, conservative and veteran, I fully understand the consternation some of you feel about this and I strongly sympathize, I truly do. However, I am first and foremost a Biblical fundamentalist who asks you to please consider this:

Christ, speaking through the apostle to the Gentiles (that’s us) tells us not to entangle ourselves in worldly affairs nor to yoke ourselves in common cause with unbelievers. We can claim our rights as citizens, as Paul did when he appealed to Caesar, but our reasons for doing so is to be what Paul’s reason was: NOT for the sake of our violated citizen’s rights themselves but for the furtherance of the Gospel. Paul’s appeal was not merely because his rights as a Roman citizen were violated, though they certainly had been. It was for him a God-ordained opportunity to take the Gospel to the highest levels of the (at that time) world government in Rome.

Christians can do nothing to delay, much less stop, the slide into moral corruption which all societies will face and which is now becoming quite apparent in our republic. It’s all part of God’s ordained plan to bring forth Antichrist who will institute, then enforce, a one world government/economy/religion from which NONE will be exempt upon pain of death. That is the plain teaching of His Word. When he first comes onto the world scene, he will be lauded as the greatest, wisest peacemaker in history. Soon, though, he will be revealed to be what he truly is and will declare himself to be God. At that point he will demand – and will receive – worship as God. Again, there is nothing Christians can do to prevent or even delay this. The timing is all in God’s hands and He has promised to bring it to pass, and what is coming will be halted only at the second coming of Christ, which is not the rapture (in which I am a believer and which I most fervently look forward to).

Now, I do not know precisely what part Islam plays in the stage-setting for Antichrist that we’re seeing but I am also persuaded it will be a LESSER role than that being played NOW by Christendom – all those who claim His name but to whom Christ Himself will say, “Depart from Me, I never knew you.” Please know that the Christians like me who are reluctant to take this futile fight to these enemies do so because we believe God’s Word when He says we do not wrestle with flesh and blood but with the demonic powers that energize them. But, as I said, we’re in the minority. Most Christians, for various reasons, do not believe in Paul’s teaching of what we call the rapture, but it IS there. Likewise, the majority of Christendom does not have a problem with the inexorable Muslim conquest for the same reason they don’t have a problem with homosexuality, abortion and a list of other sins: it’s because, despite whatever else they may claim, in reality they do not believe that which God has already condemned as sin IS sin. They believe they know better than He does, and in so doing demonstrate they do not belong to Him, but to Satan. If you wish to point fingers, gentlemen – and feel free to do so – it is THEY are the true threat here, not the consistent Bible believers like myself, because it is THEY doing the most to pave the way for Antichrist.

Look how the Pope just repeated the LIE that the God of the Bible is the Allah of Islam. He is by no means alone in this delusion, he’s just one of the biggest voices saying it, and in saying it, does far more damage than Islam (which, have no doubt, I despise as of Satan).

In the end, all we see and know – including our republic – will burn at the Word of Christ upon His return to establish His kingdom because it will first fall into the hands of Satan. It already is Satan’s, truth be told. So I repeat: I despise Islam as pagan idolatry but false Christians and worldly conservatives are doing FAR more to pave the way for Antichrist than Muslims are.

Since we are under grace, however, I suppose truly saved Christians – if they choose to do so – are free to oppose Islam and everything else wrong with society; that is their decision and I will not judge the servant of Another on that basis.

But they are horribly misguided because, in the end, all their worldly engagements – including the one you bemoan – are for naught IF the preaching of Christ is not the #1 goal in whatever they do. Apart from preaching Christ and Him crucified, all they engage in – however well intentioned – will turn to ash at the Judgment Seat of Christ (and this assumes they truly are saved…if they’re not…then…well…)

Pardon my going on so long but my point is this: the Christian’s job is not to try to save the unsavable wreck of this world, including our republic. It is to save souls FROM the wreck. Sharing the Gospel of Christ with Muslims is infinitely more important to Him than merely opposing the pagan mosques going up all around us, marching in anti-abortion parades or attending ecumenical “Reclaiming America for Christ” rallies. The former is what we, the Body of Christ, are here to do as His ambassadors: to beg people in His stead to be reconciled to God. The latter are passing, worldly, ultimately futile wastes of time that, the Bible warns, cannot succeed and will mean nothing for eternity.

        Continued grace to you, gentlemen.

        • I agree with basically everything you’ve said. We are free to do what we want with our time. So many choices. I don’t know about you, but many opportunities to share the gospel come about because of my interaction with non-believers. Galatians 6:9-10 says, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to ALL, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Additional verses to remember: Isaiah 1:17, “Learn to do good; Seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.”; James 4:17, (part), “…for him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

          God bless you.

          • Yes, we are free because we’re under grace. Not to abuse it – Paul addresses that objection more than once – but to buy up the time wisely, to gain rewards.

          • “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear, having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” I Peter 3:15.

    • “…Making the most of a life/body/spirit/talents God gave you in this lifetime instead of constantly focusing on what’s next?”

Hear the Words of the Lord:

“Do NOT store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures IN HEAVEN, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“But our [the Christian’s] citizenship IS IN HEAVEN. And WE EAGERLY AWAIT THE SAVIOR FROM THERE, the Lord Jesus Christ…” Philippians 3:20

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, SET YOUR HEARTS ON THINGS ABOVE, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Colossians 3:1

“Set your minds on things ABOVE, not on EARTHLY things.” Colossians 3:2

  9. I agree with “You Know its True”. All this fear that some christians have to direct every problem to a personal god is ridiculous. It will only get people killed and leave the future generations with a horrible mess.

You do not have to believe in god to care about future generations. We must show strength as Ronald Reagan said.

    • Why would you have a problem with any Christian directing problems to a personal God? That’s what Christians are commanded to do. Call it ridiculous if you want but you blaspheme God and will pay for it.

Just who are YOU to judge others, anyway?

Are you another of those tiresome fashionable angsty-edgy atheists who just HAS to interject his personal opinions in all possible settings, even where it has no place, because that’s what all the cool atheist kids do?

      Repent or you will perish.

  10. Rapture “ready” means I’m right with God, ready to be raptured in His perfect time. In the mean time I fight for my kids so they won’t have to live in a Muslim country.
Progressive Christians, Chrislam. CINO (Christian In Name Only),all a giant mission field too,
I have a list I pray for to be saved. Among the names of individuals I love I also list Mormons and Muslims.
So to be ready for Him call out to Jesus, admit you sin, ask for and receive forgiveness, read the bible, go to a bible teaching church, walk in obedience… This will grow your love for Jesus. You will know you are saved because you will be transformed ( it says so in scripture) for better.

If sharia law continues spreading, you'll have less and less freedom of speech - so speak while you can!
