Several parents are suing the San Diego Unified School District for partnering in an “anti-bullying” program with an organization regarded by the FBI as a front group for Hamas and by a Gulf Arab state as a terrorist organization.
As WND reported, the San Diego chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations was formally approved by the school board last month to help develop a plan that will include the review and vetting of materials related to Muslim culture and history.
The stated objective is to “combat Islamophobia and the bullying of Muslims students.”
Now, attorney Charles LiMandri of the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund is representing parents who contend the program is unconstitutional, reports San Diego’s KGTV.
“It appears as though they’re showing a preference for one religion over another,” said LiMandri, who also fought for a dozen years to protect San Diego’s Mt. Soledad Cross veterans’ memorial from a complaint that it violates the U.S. Constitution.
LiMandri pointed out the school district’s statistics from the second half of 2016 show there were only seven incidents of school bullying in the entire city, which represented 130,000 students.
Further, he said, the statistics don’t break down the victims according to religious affiliation, so it’s unknown how many of those students were Muslims.
“You have to treat all major religions equally or just not give any of them any type of special privileges,” he told KGTV.
“Quite frankly, Christians are getting tired of being kicked around,” LiMandri said. “You can’t call Christmas vacation ‘Christmas vacation’ anymore. It’s got to be called ‘winter holiday.’”
He said the lawsuit will be dropped when the district treats all religions equally.
Neither the school district nor CAIR responded to the station’s requests for comment.
CAIR has sued the authors of a WND Books exposé, “Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That’s Conspiring to Islamize America,” which documented the group’s radical ties. A trial in the case is expected to commence this fall.
‘Cultural tolerance and understanding’
As WND reported, a school board report outlining the district’s objectives touted CAIR as an organization that “has been involved in constructive civic engagement, promotes cultural tolerance and understanding, as well as justice and equality.”
Hanif Mohebi, executive director of CAIR San Diego, told the school board April 4 that CAIR wants the district’s program to become a national model.
“The plan itself is a great first step,” he said.
“I truly believe that if we do this right, San Diego Unified School District would be the leading school district in the nation to come up with a robust and beautiful anti-bullying and anti-Islamophobia program.”
In other words, terror-linked CAIR wants their Islamic indoctrination program to become a nationwide sharia immersion/submission/dawah program…for all schoolchildren. Some San Diego parents aren’t taking it lightly as noted in a post last week: Citizens shame school board over terror-linked, pro-Islam public school policy
