Presidential Message on Ramadan

Issued on: May 15, 2018

With the rising of tonight’s moon, I send my greetings and best wishes to all Muslims observing Ramadan in the United States and around the world.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims commemorate the revelation of the Quran to the prophet Muhammad through fellowship and prayer.  Many observe this holy time by fasting, performing acts of charity, reciting prayers, and reading the Quran.

Ramadan is a time of self-reflection intended to deepen one’s spiritual growth and renew a sense of appreciation for the many blessings God provides.  In this spirit of thanksgiving and reflection, those observing Ramadan can strengthen our communities, help those in need, and serve as good examples for how to live a holy life.

Ramadan reminds us of the richness Muslims add to the religious tapestry of American life.  In the United States, we are all blessed to live under a Constitution that fosters religious liberty and respects religious practice.  Our Constitution ensures Muslims can observe Ramadan in accordance with the dictates of conscience and unimpeded by government.  By doing so, the Constitution also furnishes varied opportunities for all Americans to deepen their understanding of the human soul.

As so many people unite to celebrate Ramadan, Melania and I join in the hope for a blessed month.  Ramadan Mubarak.

Actually, Ramadan is the month of jihad and Victory, Over Infidels and Martyrdom.

The month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, has a special status as the month of religious spirituality and devotion. However, in Muslim tradition it is also perceived as a month of jihad and martyrdom, a month in which Allah grants military victories to His believers. It was during Ramadan that Muslims triumphed in many of their battles, among them the battle of Badr in 624 between supporters of Muhammad and a merchant caravan of the Quraysh tribe; the conquest of Mecca in 630 and of Andalusia in 711; the battle of Al-Zallaqa in 1086, in which Spanish Muslims defeated the Castilians near the city of Badajoz on today’s Portuguese border, and the 1973 War (called The Ramadan War).

Given the historic religious and military significance of Ramadan, Islamist and jihadi groups, and sometimes also mainstream Arab organizations and Arab media, escalate incitement to jihad and martyrdom during this month. Messages, articles and sermons that are published on the occasion of Ramadan and explain the connection between Ramadan and jihad and often stress the following themes:

-The commandment of jihad, which is of supreme importance at all times, assumes even greater importance during this holy month and gains precedence over all other commandments.

Former Egyptian Grand Mufti: Ramadan Is The Month Of Jihad And Victories

In an article published in the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram in July 2012, then-mufti of Egypt ‘Ali Gum’a wrote that Ramadan is, and has been throughout Muslim history, the month in which Allah helps the Muslims to prevail over their enemies and grants them mighty victories. He reviewed the conquests of Muslims throughout history during Ramadan.

  1. Death to islam! I wonder what would happen to me if I ran through the airport shouting this???? You can guess! But if the vermin Muslims shout anything (Allah ackbar, whatever!) I’m supposed to act like this is no big deal! Even as I’m about to be blown up by a brainwashed woman or small child.
During Ramadan we all have to be aware of these filthy mongrels and their plans to destroy the civilized world. Be suspicious of everyone!
Unless you know they aren’t a Muslim, assume they might be….especially here in southeast Michigan – Scumbag central!!

  2. This is also a time for defiance to Islam and their supposed supremacy. No man is given any supremacy over another created being. Islam forces submission not asks for assimiliation but to submit and pay ransom for your life. My life is worth more to Jesus Christ and refuse to pay some Ideology fiat money for my life. My life is not for sale, and my soul is already bought by the blood of Jesus. When did Muhammad given his life for Allah? Never. So why do you Muslims take the word of a self proclaimed prophet to give up your life for Allah? Muhammad was never proven to be a prophet by any means in written form by the hand of God, and Moses never mentioned any Muhammad, or Allah. nothing about Muhammad in the Koran about the coming Prophet, and nothing in the Koran even mentions the name Muhammad until 300 years after his so-called death that was not ever written about. I guess Muslims believe the world is flat too. Mullahs and Imams are just puppet masters keeping Muslims in bondage for their wealth.

  3. If Ramadan was Peaceful then it wouldn’t have resulted in 174 acts of terror committed in the name of Islam in 2017 killing 1,595. 2 Muslims were killed in acts of Islamophobia. 0 acts of terror were committed by ALL Other Religions combined. Religions aside, anybody who believes the Islam is a peaceful religion spiel really needs their head examined. History and over 1400 years of actions by Muslims against other prove otherwise. Islamic teachings show it is a Totalitarian lifestyle with the goal of conquering the world. Name one Muslim country where Non-Muslims can live peacefully ?

  4. Such a beautiful and thoughtfully written speech, I bet Donald toiled many hours to complete it.

  5. do US presidents wish other faiths happy this and that too? how about happy deepavali , happy Wesak enlightnement day for buddhist, happy hanukkah, merry christmas ,happy eidi noh ruz, new yr for zoroastrians, …well Trump is now a politician, so he has to observe diplomatic protocol now daaaah

If sharia law continues spreading, you'll have less and less freedom of speech - so speak while you can!
